especially one as handsome as 言承旭。。。哈哈哈。。
and ella's portray of 杨果,is really very adorable too.
all in all, the show is funny and heartwarming. <3
he proposed to her less than 1 month after they got together.... but its damn fantasy lah, cuz throughout the whole show, he's like damn rich, damn eng, and damn 体贴。。even though he is supposed to be a very busy lawyer..
the last part, they even had kids!!

this drama shall join the ranks of my all-time favourite dramas
which include 王子变青蛙。。 that was funny, eventful, and so full of 經典台詞
just like what caddie wrote on her blog...
my favourite line was
"单均昊不是神,他也是人,是一个平凡的人,
他的心也希望能够感受真爱,留住真爱,
他也会战战兢兢的站在一个喜欢的女孩子面前,
希望她能够爱他。
茼篙就在单均昊的心裏,你怎麼能把茼篙叫醒,又不理他呢。"
it was said with alot of expression and emotions by ming dao!
i am so going to watch this drama again!!

Love this song from 言承旭 =)
hehe, it is such a soulful song and meaningful lyrics.

it's been like a couple of weeks since i chanced upon the colorful xiao long baos
and i still would like to try!
just looks so cute - the myriad of colors.
it is not just the outer skin that is colored, the fillings are special too...
there's ginseng, foe gras, szechuan, chocolate, etc etc!
shall drag/pull/ask roland to go soon :D

hilarious and memorable weekend!

Last saturday, we went to meet the bachelors club for dinner at 85 market
along the way we met this super funny and weird and dangerous taxi driver
who was supposedly 75 yrs old
first thing he said to us was "wah 你们这两公婆,女的漂亮,男的也漂亮。。" (LOL)
then aft that he said he wanted to intro roland to his 18 yr old daughter "她的胸部大大粒的,没有打针的。。 真的很大!"
i was laughing out loud all the way.
then after that he was telling us look at how fit he is, driving at 130km/hr, "look, now is 140km/hr liao"
this was on the TPE...
and he was driving 80km/hr on normal roads
accelerating at bends
tailgating the other cars
and this part when he told us his wife had died, he slapped his forehead and closed his eyes in a state of emo
while the car was still moving...
omg we were like so amused yet hanging on tight for our lives!!
he can drive yet turn ard to talk to us, treat us to eat coconut sweets that can only be found in "海南岛"
sometimes not even sure whether his eyes are on the road...
Ruifang said, the dinner at 85 market is to celebrate our "safety" hahaha

then he also asked us for "zhen zi" and roland gave him this number 8486 which stands for his birth yr and mine
guess what... the next day... 4D results.. 8486 was the 3rd prize!!!!
zomg.... it was freaking qiao!! if the uncle had bought the number, he will be richer now! hahaha

we were so shocked when we saw 8486 真的开!

i was watching 就想赖着你。。

言承旭 is actually quite shuai...
he's damn charming in the show esp when he gives the mischievous smile/grin...

he said this sentence to ella - damn sweet...
相信我,你是哪种会让人家有自信爱你一辈子的女生。。

like wow....
it is quite a unique 偶像剧 line.

but i think my fav 偶像剧 is still 王子变青蛙。。

i shall change my signing-off signature to this lovely quote:

"Somewhere between our laughs, our long talks, our silly little fights, and all our jokes, I fell in love."

it is time to 'retire' the following
"goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake."
i guess it has been a series of goodbyes and the mistakes i have made will serve as good reminders for my future.
and i am not after any more best kept secrets.
afterall, the best things in life should be shared with everyone else.

my long due updates about phuket (i still miss the blue-green sea and the awesome fine sand), job, and everything else will come soon.
stay tuned! :P

WHO'D HAVE KNOWN; Lily Allen

for some reason, this song sneaked back into my brain.

It's 5 o'clock in the morning
The conversation got boring
You said you were going to bed soon
So I snuck off to your bedroom
And I thought I'd just wait there
Until I heard you come up the stairs
And I pretended I was sleeping
And I was hoping you would creep in with me

You put your arm around my shoulder
And it was good the room got colder
And we moved closer in together
And started talking about the weather
You said tomorrow would be fun
And we could watch a place in the sun
I didn't know where this was going
When you kissed me

Are you mine?
Are you mine?
Cause I stay here all the time
Watching telly, drinking wine

Who'd have known?
Who'd have known?
When you flash up on my phone
I no longer feel alone
No longer feel alone

I haven't left you for days now
And I'm becoming amazed how
You're quite affectionate in public
In fact your friend said it made her feel sick
And even though it's moving forward
There's just the right amount of awkward
And today you accidentally called me baby

Are you mine?
Are you mine?
Cause I stay here all the time
Watching telly, drinking wine

Who'd have known?
Who'd have known?
When you flash up on my phone
I no longer feel alone

Let's just stay
Let's just stay
I wanna lie in bed all day
We'll be laughing all the way
You told your friends they all know
We exist but we're taking it slow
Let's just see how it goes
Let's see how it goes

Are you mine?
Are you mine?
Cause I stay here all the time
Watching telly, drinking wine

Who'd have known?
Who'd have known?
When you flash up on my phone
I no longer feel alone

Let's just stay
Let's just stay
I wanna lie in bed all day
We'll be laughing all the way
You told your friends they all know
We exist but we're taking it slow
Let's just see how it goes
Let's see how it goes

---

it's strange, how "when it comes, it all comes" seem to be happening to me again.
a series of meet-ups....
for a string of unknown reasons.
and i am running low on excuses.

i saw this particular date on the calendar,
vastly different things came to mind.
time plays funny tricks on us,
but im in no hurry.
this time round,
im taking my time.

some things move in circles,
others move in straight lines.
but who'd have known?
certainly, not me.
and perhaps, that is the beauty of it all.

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

learnt a new term

i was web-surfing...
and then i was thinking of searching for bareback dresses.
typed 'bareback' into the google bar cause i was half lazy,
and this came up....

i was horrified!
i have no desire at all, to watch "Amateur guys having bareback sex, eating cum, giving and receiving facials and more."

eeks. in fact, i had no idea bareback was a slang (quoting Wikipedia)
Bareback is a slang term to describe acts of unprotected sex (i.e. sex without the use of a condom). The origin of the term is by an analogy to riding a horse without a saddle. Bareback (sex) has recently come to describe all forms of unprotected penetration.

Hmm, so does that mean, shu jing, we cannot anyhow ride you.
哈哈哈哈
and i shall never anyhow use the word bareback in public anymore.
i think i used to say (that) "bareback (dress) very nice!!"

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

it was overall an awesome yummy meal.
want to go back to try butter & peppered crabs!!
Thanks dear for accommodating my swinging moods brought on by PMS, and my fatigue.
i know i am really quick tempered & short fused at times.

Am going Bintan in 6 days time!!

"Who says Sg men are boring? Guy proposes to GF with bus stop ad at Dhoby Ghaut"

Watch how this guy propose to his gf!
Interestingly, i've been reading this girl's blog from time to time
i think she shares the same initials nsh as me.

although the whole proposal involves alot of preparation, thick skin as well as help from their friends/relatives, and i think it is darn sweet of the guy to put in so much effort into a proposal, personally im not a sucker for public proposals.

why?

1) it places too much pressure on both parties (although of course im sure the guy was 99.99% sure that she will say yes but still its too risky isnt it? or she might say yes in public and then return home and decide against it)

2) personally, i feel that a proposal should be done in a quiet, private setting. not literally has to be inside the bathroom of your own house but a restaurant, on top of a hill-top, or someplace meaningful would do. perhaps after both parties get down from an exhilarating rollercoaster ride or free fall (ie. Turbo drop) hahaha.. provided the ring doesnt fly off during the ride.

3) it is really none of the public's business when your bf proposes to you... so there's no need to let the whole world know. if you look at STOMP, there are many mean people in this country/world that left snide or negative remarks ranging from 'like that very big deal meh' to 'aiya sure divorce one la' to rumours like 'the girl drinks alot at pubs, and the guy isnt as faithful as you think'. Seriously, our world is filled with these disgusting people who are either green eyed or just plain crude. what is wrong with drinking at pubs? and does her drinking at pubs concern you? i never liked such media attention, perhaps i dont take well to criticism (or rather, just non-constructive bad-mouthing).

interestingly, the guy works at clear channel. hehe. so at least he probably got the ad space for free or at 'staff's price'.

watch the video at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30QvCJg_Frw&feature=player_embedded

getting married at 25 (that's the girl's age), it doesnt seem to be happening to me.
once so long ago, i dreamt of it.
and i thought or believed it was possible (when you are only 16, 25 sounds like a big deal and very far away)
now... Que Sera Sera..

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

Bel fa niente - the beauty of doing nothing.

Ah! I finally got my nude pumps from aldo.
Thank god thr was the last pair in 38.
Can't wait to don them
At 4.5" I might finally be able to tower (or be of equal height) over smelly, stinky peeps onboard the mrt
Yayness

I am doing a mask now
Poor face hasn't got much nutrients cept for daily vichy moisturiser(smells darn gd and loves the matt touch)
Cause I'm usually too lazy
Just saw that there is a new perfume from vera wang, glam princess
I have decided tht I must collect all the vera wang princess perfume
The cover of the perfume can be worn as a ring! How not to love?
'Crushed red berries, pear, orange blossom, vanilla orchid, marshmallow & cashmere wood'
Sounds gooood.

And I'm meeting shuenyun for pedicure soon
Aah, all these talk makes me feel so girly!

Yesterday, howie & I went to silvery moon @pasir ris park again
The food's stil yummy, had their sambal prawn pasta & sambal fried rice
Fiery!
Their drinks are affordable too, 2 for $12 martinis
The lychee one comes with 3 juicy lychees
There's also pineapple and sugarcane martini, sounds funny right
But pineapple was nice
Last night tho we had boubon coke $6.50 and corona beer
Not much since we drove thr

Last tues baby's bday, we celebrated @ overeasy at one fullerton
Expensive but the devil eggs thingy and pasta was pretty awesome
But not a regular place to dine at, I suppose
Quite atas
I wld like to go to bar stop @ devonshire next
And of course the place I wld really like to go is this old colonial black&white restaurant
At one of the parks. Suddenly forgot the name :/
Quite short termed memory these days

Back to work tmr
Its good I don't get the dreadful feeling on sun nights now
Maybe cause my workplace's pretty cool
And I'm enjoying e independence, the balance & the structure
Although I almost got an heart attack when one of my numberous ads for next week was delayed at production
And media agency called to ask whr was the ad
Grrr..
Multi tasking and switching my brain between print, fax, online banners & edms (the most trouble of all)
I'm lovin' it
It makes me feel useful in this huge mega cruel world of advertising
Where would I be, without you?

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

Consider the postage stamp: its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing till it gets there. ~Josh Billings

nice quote there. the story of stuck snails below.

anyway, i flushed 2 mini snails down the toilet bowl.
the snails were imported from our neighbouring country, Malaysia
they were driven all the way from Pontian to Kulai back to Singapore while they were
hidding comfortably in the pandan leaves that my mum brought back from my uncle's house
somehow the snails escaped death by crushing and planted themselves on the walls of my toilet
at first there was only one, so i took a bucket of water, poured over it, but it remained glued to the wall surface
i decided to close one eye.
one side of me was wondering whether it will grow into a large snail, those that i used to see and almost narrowly stepped on after it rains, in hall 12.
then today i came home and saw another one
i took alot of toilet paper (sorry, trees), tried not to think about how mushy/squishy those things felt under the thin paper, grabbed them off the walls (felt so disgusted at their texture) and i flushed them away.
will the snails enjoy swimming, you think?
i did what i had to do.
at least you breathed the singapore air for a week & celebrated CNY with us.
oh did i mention, they were the size of buttons.
so much so that i mistook the bronze button on my mother's shorts as another snail.
dont haunt me tonight, snails.

asos dresses that are <3<3<3

love this purple.

i think the back design of this is slightly nicer than the purple one. and can probably cover the bra strap so no need for nubra.

Love the poster for NINE. it speaks of glamour, mystery, sex and one leading man with lots of charming women around him. its now my laptop's wallpaper :)

bought another 2 books from HMV today - New Moon and Memoirs of A Geisha, which im going to re-read! it seems only yesterday that i borrowed it from Shuwan. i miss hall life! :( my neighbours sw & sj, and being able to stay late, hangout and all that... those were the days. indeed.

first day of work went quite smoothly & fast.
had a proper induction program to follow before i catch up the workload from my colleagues.
loads of processes & systems to remember.
and there were a few promising signs about this place, lets hope things keep that way.
people are friendly though its difficult to remember all the names and who-whos now that im working in a larger co.

good thing was i did not turn up and find myself suddenly have to setup my own computer (or alas! dont even have one!)
another good thing was that all meetings must be pre-arranged via outlook express. even a 10 minute, grab-you and talk meeting. oh, how i love that very command coming out from my boss. it feels like those days at design bridge. i was so, so, glad.
structure may be bothersome for some, but its like breathing fresh air to me.
no more last minute meetings that cause me to be uncertain about my schedule daily, or what time i can leave because i have to wait for my managers to come back from meetings and blah blah... no more michael suddenly grabbing us and say 'oei meeting meeting, 快点' and then it becomes an hour long of inefficiency.

and today at the company's restructuring meeting, i notice that if when the logo is placed on a black background, you can actually forgo the E and see an ! exclamation mark besides the logo boundary.

this is what i mean! do you see the !? after you see the ! its hard to not see it anymore. hahah visual trick:)

versus this

im headed to bed.
there's work afterall tomorrow.

"There is no love without forgiveness, and there is no forgiveness without love."
a perfect quote to end this day.

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

My favourites

I think I will be blogging more on the go
Since my morning journeys to work will be slightly longer from next week onwards

I'm happy there is a pasta mania at bugis junction
So tht when my pasta craving starts up
I can always satisfy it during lunch there

I really love to eat pasta,
Esp so during the past one - two years
Aglio olio & arriabiata
Both with lots of spice
And I converted from spagetti to linguine
Yum
I think even hon is unable to keep up with my pasta craves
He will go 'pasta mania again?'
While I smile weakly back haha

Infact I love to eat noodles
Ramen, udon, soba, meehoon, mee ta mak
Yum
I think my love for sushi & pizza (my fav food in primary sch)
Has been overtaken by pasta & japanese food in general
Got to say again the sashmi salad from sushi tei is just super worth it
And the best standard comes from raffles shopping centre branch
While the worst (or the only bad) tht I have experienced is at vivo
Probably cause its always so crowded there

Randomly I like to drink tea, soya bean and milk tea!
Speakin of this makes me crave for cup walker peppermint milk tea with pudding & pearls
But now I found another 'Drink tea' shop at bedok
Its not bad, esp the roselle pearls its famous for
But its very expensive.
Coffee used to be my love, but because it stains teeth overtime,
I've cut down a lot till I dn really crave it
Even when I'm super sleepy
Haha I'm vain

Nude, black & white
I can't seem to get enough of these colors
And the occasional red on my nails is a lovely addition
I just have too much clothes & bad buys recently
So I hope to stop buying clothes
Spend more on travel instead

Going hongkong on the 6th nx month!
Our hotel damn far, its at tsuen wan, near airport
But its free, and got a great view so I shan't complain :p
I can't wait for this er ren shi jie haha

Redang with csbs in May
Not sure if I will snorkel but looking forward to the nice beach
And lots of late night talk cock & suaning sessions

Shall blog abt other favourites when I get the inspiration

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

the missing pieces

somehow i feel like something is missing from my life
i feel lonely, after everyone has gone to sleep
after im all alone.
or maybe its just the pms talking.
perhaps i have too much going on my mind.
worries & fears,
be gone!

today i went to erabelle for my eyebrow touch up.
it was a lil hard to get use to that pricky feeling but thank goodness it was over quickly
i had a change of artist this time and she did not 'draw' my brows as dark as the previous girl who did for me. hence i felt comfortable enough (not like LA PI XIAO XIN) to go shopping at zara thereafter and was so tempted to get that blue peep toes heels ($89.90 only is a steal for zara heels!) if not for the fact that i just parted with $600 for additional 3 more touch ups. :(
sigh. so broke now. $200 per touchup is like $100 for one eyebrow. i think this ouch is louder than the physical ouch during the process. hahah.
it is the price of vanity & confidence. it's tough being a woman.
but at the same time, i feel like this whole eyebrow thingy is one of the best things that happened to me because i finally have eyebrows in photos!!!
just a little concerned that it will fade quicker this time since she did not make it very dark.
and 1 side is a lil sleeker than the other :( but sister & bf says not obvious.
maybe its just me! hahah...

now i have a string of things i want... i really need to prioritise. haha. i am even thinking of giving up the LV bag purchase from HK. imagine with the money for that bag i can buy the (aldo heels + zara heels) x 2!
you do the maths.
im also putting on hold the purchase of makeup so that i can go to dfs to buy them for cheaper.

speaking of HK, that reminds me to blog about my trip to malaysia over Chinese New Year.
Indeed, time passes like damn fast.
its already friday tomorrow. This year, CNY was no different from the rest except for the fact that it was my 1st time helping out at my parents' stall till wee hours,
together with dear howie. :)
Reunion dinner was excellent too, and isaac was such a joy on cny eve.
then first day of cny, my sis, mum and i, together with my aunt's family drove to malaysia
not much jam.
went to catch Valentine's Day (sucks for being so boring & doesnt teach you anything except maybe to marry/date your best friend of the opposite sex) as well as Little Big Soldier (was okay, quite funny at times. didnt know that Wang Lee Hom can act as well)
then dinner was at this restaurant. chilli crabs + nice veggie.
although everyone else seemed to complain the standard dropped.

2nd day, we had niang tou foo from the street stalls. very nice. love the malaysian mee hoon, cause its softer.
then drove 3 hrs to malacca, had a yummy home cooked lunch at my uncle's friend's house. checked in hotel & then rest.
drove to my 二姨's house. the road there is very narrow. only meant for 1 car at a time. on each side of this road is paddy field.
there was this time, our 2 cars drove in, met another 2 cars which were on the way out. gosh
we had to reverse into other people's house driveway to let them pass since they didnt want to let us pass. imagine if this had happened at night or happened when the 2 cars going in different directions meet in the middle of the entire long road, i think it will be damn leceh plus dangerous to reverse! haha... my sis's driving skills improved plus she now misses driving at 160km/hr.
im glad that i did not have to drive. else we might take 12 hours to reach malacca.
dinner at 二姨's house - the chilli fish can only be described in one word - HOT!
followed by malay tutu kuey. damn big & nice. each piece is the size of my palm.

3rd day, we drove back to Kulai after dim sum at malacca (standard dropped as they expanded)
and before leaving, we also pluck veggies and fruits from my 二姨's field! the vegetables leaves are huge!
at Kulai, we had home grown kampung chicken & steamboat again.
basically the whole trip was alot of eating & driving. amidst all the closeness there were of course some conflicts here & there but it was a good trip with my aunt's family.
sometimes i wonder how many more times can/will we travel together to malaysia
with my mum, aunt & relatives growing older, myself & my cousins growing up & apart,
every year could be the last time we will actually still bother to visit them in malaysia.
its just like how my brother after marriage, has his own family and doesnt join us anymore.
infact i can hardly remember the last time my brother went to malaysia with us.
i suppose it could be in 2002 or something when my grandma passed on.

it has been a great trip nonetheless. too bad it all flew by and now we are back to singapore.
starting work next week.
a pack of nerves.

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

hairy business

i did a search on hairstyles cause i am really bored with my limp and flat hair
might cut my fringe into bangs. and dye it really dark. then layer it
i want to look somewhat like....

gorgeous dark hair. her hair is abit too wispy though.

or like

really like this though but i dont know if i can carry off that length.

rachel mcadams looks nice with this hair cut.

and the cool ash color on this lady is also nice. the bangs make her doll-like.

howie & i were discussing earlier after our very yummy sushi tei dinner (seriously the sashimi salad is damn worth it. they gave like at least 15 pieces of salmon!), and we both thought of the long in front, short at the back hair style. which is apparently called the A-lined bob, or swing bob. think victoria beckham and her bob. or katie holmes. however most of the these hairstyles only look nice when the length infront and the length behind dont vary that much. so it creates a slant from the front to the back.

the one we had in mind was really long at the front to shoulder-length at the back.
but after seeing the following photos, i think the side view looks really strange. like an unfinished haircut. hahaha... and i dont think it will go well with bangs.

i still cant decide. this kind of thing must be impulsive, go to salon and just heck. maybe i will get that impulse after my eyebrow embroidery touchup tomorrow (more g-tech pen scratching my eyebrow ouch).

some nice stuff that i was browsing thru:

a pity the pants are abit bell bottom. and VS stuff are way too overpriced. i rather buy asos with that amt.

lime green tank. i like the model.

upcoming next is a really strange swimsuit called the topless bikini
when i first saw the item's name i was like, wow, bikini already cover so little, what will a topless bikini look like hahaha..... they cant possibly sell air right?

and then this came up

very borat!! ahahha and she's damn skinny hence dont look so good in modeling swimsuit.

but apparently you can wear with a tube... still a very weird design

love this work outfit. been into work dresses lately.

alexander mcqueen heels. so delicious.
im seriously contemplating to purchase that crazy aldo nude heels because good looking nude heels are such a rare find. its in patent too so it really just reminds me of the unaffordable christian louboutins! sigh. so many things to purchase.

and today, i received a phone call from BBDO's snr account director for an interview
this came 2 weeks after i sent in my resume and it was just a generic 'Im sending my resume for your consideration, should there be any openings available', not responding to any ad and without the prior knowledge that they are hiring or not.
gosh. i told him i have got an opportunity already. gosh the moment i said that i felt a tinge of regret. sigh. i still wonder if that was the right thing to say. maybe i shd have just gone for the interview (supposed to be tmr) just to see how they are like. another experience.
but i guess the fact that i already signed the appt letter at eftc made me guilty to even consider another possible (and very remote) chance of getting into another (bigger/better maybe) agency. BBDO has an excellent portfolio and they do singtel & watsons hahahha.
sigh, i keep consoling myself that everything happens for a reason and eftc happened at the right time.
its not like i can control the fact that BBDO only responded now!! :(
well, i can also use the fact that i even got shortlisted for the interview & am considered worthy of their time to speak to me, as another consolation.

do not like this feeling of uncertainty & worry. and its like, i feel so green still.
will i fit well into the new environment? certainly im glad and happy to go back to the agency life.
i really hope to gain more experience and become someone knowledgeable & qualified to be in this industry. got to work hard this year. i really cant just say i quit anymore.
and i do not want to.
so i pray, let eftc be the place to grow, for me.

for you, i pray, there will be a light guiding you to your path.
no matter what, i will support your decision ;)

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

The Climb - Miley Cyrus

dedicate this meaningful song to myself and howie.

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody's gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.
