“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” so Coco Chanel said this sentence which I absolutely agree with. It's like 女人的专利 to be able to doll up and look beautiful.. However to be classy and fabulous looking is akin to doing up a nude make-up look, it looks perfect and effortless but it is definitely not effortless. I think the highest form of praise for any one is not being fashionable but being well-put-together/effortless. Imagine looking so put together that you look like you just threw on your clothes without any thought and put on flawless simple makeup to step out of your house. I admit I have outgrown my love for dresses and to a certain extent, even for heels (surprise!) Buying clothes no longer give me the same adrenaline as before, perhaps because now i have so much clothes that it actually frustrates me because i cannot find the ones i really want, amidst those that i no longer wear but cannot bear to throw/donate. And also because in my 3 years lifespan/addiction/obsession with online shopping, i have bought/worn almost every type of dress and clothing/shoes in trend, save for the Harem pants, which i never understood why girls wanted pants with such a elongated crotch area. they look like they were designed for clowns. oh, and denim dresses too. denim dresses only look good on GUESS models. So, thinking back, I have done the bodycon, the crossback, the tieback, the Uback, the maxi, the jelly flats, the kaftan, the satin, and so on.... so now everything on ASOS or most blogshops looks boring to me. I used to click "open in new tabs" until my browser was about to explode haha... but now one scroll down and i click "x" on the page. The only clothes i buy now are ironically the basics, like pants, tops, which i lack like crazy. Heels still remain my deepest love, but growing older has made me more practical, and more alert to the fact that my feet can no longer take abuse like before. :p So now i am wearing more flats, easier to run for buses, better for shopping. I only wear the scary 4 inches to dinners and wear the classic black 2.5 inches for work. even 3-3.5 inches are a little intimidating for me nowadys since i am so laid back. some "credit" goes to roland for turning me into a more laid back person. He said i was trying too hard to be sophisticated before, so he prefers a more natural/casual me. oh well, every girl wants to quickly turn into a lady. X'mas is in 24 days and no doubt i have accumulated enough visual orgasms for me to do up two types of X'mas wishlists, one is like reaching for the sky, and one is more down-to-earth. Shall we look at the realistic before the jaw-dropping ones first? Due to my recent, newly acquired obsession with make-up (specifically, lipstick which i have always secretly loved, and lipgloss which i have learnt to admire), i have a couple to wish about. 1. Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette For eyeshadows, i am still not adventurous, prefering to go with neutrals and i would love to try a smoky look (without looking like a panda) someday. waiting for this palatte to restock at Sephora for me to test it in real life. 2. Too Faced Naked Eye Palette After doing some online research, i actually prefer the colors on this than Urban Decay's, as UD's seem to be more bronzy and warm. I will be checking this out during my 1st visit to Sephora this saturday (so slow i know.......) not a fan of the bulky packaging tho. 3. Bobbi Brown Palette Looks good, though i am not sure of its exact name. sleek packaging helps :) 4. a Coco Chanel beauty bible. Won't that be cool? Heehee 5. These gorgeous Chanel babies in the glossy black pouch!! I didnt see it in SG so far.. :( But the brush set will be a good thing to have. I recently got a lip pencil that has a lip brush on the other end, and i realise how much i prefer painting my lips with a brush than straight out of the tube. it's probably the first time in my life i like painting. the effect is also more polished. Honestly, i dont recall the smell. But i love the packaging, though i am not a Gucci bag fan. So it will be more like to add on to my parfum collection. If Chanel has something like that i will snap it up. heehee. 7. All these lippies to satisfy my lip pucker obsession: Mac Viva Glam Gaga Mac Shy Girl Mac Creme Cup Mac Creme d' Nude Mac Please Me Chanel Rouge Coco Chintz + Chanel Rouge Allure etc etc NARS Belle Du Jour YSL 148 Tea Rose Lancome L'ABSOLU ROUGE series and now the jawwwwwwwww-dropping wishlist 1. Chanel's signature studded logo earrings in small. no need for pictures. i will save up to get it next year, if they still somehow exist by then. 2. Chanel's classic 2.55 in small doesnt help much that my boss has been bringing hers to the office this week, and conveniently leaving it around like it was a Charles & Keith bag. I was so tempted to snap a photo of it but all i could get was a picture of the back view. the logo was love 3. Prada nylon/lambskin bag The lambskin one in nude is too prrretty to be brought out, seriously. the texture of the lambskin material is like sooooo soft, and feels like hotel bedsheets. a dream bag. this isnt cheap too, saw it at HK airport for $4k.... this nylon version (can't find the photo of the exact one i liked but is similar) is more affordable at under $2k... as such, this falls under my "to-do list before 30" (which i will blog about in my next post). Black and gold never fails. lub the PRADA gold words. in the meantime, i pray for Charles & Keith to come up with an inspired one hehehhe.. :P 4. Christian Louboutins Lace Heels Gorgeous and stunning lace covered heels, especially the peep toe version. Cant say much except that these heels are the bomb!! 5. Sensible (that makes it the perfect excuse to buy it) Ferragamo Classic Heels Well if i cant get past just a free Christian Louboutin shoe bag from my boss, i am sure i can get these very very classic beauties, right??? *once, roland agreed that Ferragamo is worth paying $800 for..... so i can get these one day right dear?? hehehe" second item under "to-do list under 30" i feel so purged now that i've vented out this long long post which was sitting for 20 days in my draft folder. PS - i am moving to another blog platform soon, if all things goes well...... byebye blogspot.. its not my fault that you havent been upgrading yourself much to follow suit with all the web-savvy and happening tools that other platforms are using. watch this space for the new url. till then........ ---Somewhere between our laughs, our long talks, our silly little fights, and all our jokes, I fell in love. lusting for life ah... i cant help but collect images of beautiful things. they make life seem more exciting, more amazing, more motivating, more beautiful. even if these are but materialistic things that we can't take with us when we part this world, but because happiness is sometimes intangible, and bad days at work make us cranky, we take to pretty things that we can see, and desire to own. the gold one looks amazing. ![]() coco chanel! im officially taken over by a makeup craze. especially obsessed with makeup that has pretty and elegant packaging... i wished i live in a country where they ship direct from chanel.com they give lots of samples during your purchase! Moschino scarf watch i fell in love with this idea once i saw the ad. the watch face itself is simple, but only because the scarf is already so pretty that any other watch face will be too over-the-top. it's difficult to decide whether i like the black or red more. black with gold, red with silver... ![]() ![]() ![]() If the idea of a scarf watch seems too dressy, Moschino has brilliantly included a simple leather strap to replace the scarf for everyday, casual wear. brilliant and considerate! thumbs up. and my excitment is growing... for my next trip - coming up in jan 2011! B.A.L.I with baby... looking at all these resort photos, i am convinced that one day i shall go there and just do nothing at all.. the Ayana resort itself is so beautiful. can just sleep, swim, spa.. (all indulgences start with 's') hehe... ![]() i love 4 poster beds! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Imagine sitting facing the sea and just holding your hand... ;) now all we need to do is to start researching where to go and where to stay! count down = 2 months and we must definitely make reservation to go to the Rock Bar at ayana resort... this is one amazing location for a bar... the bar is about 10 stories above the crashing waves of the indian ocean. beautiful, beautiful... sipping a pina colada or a lychee martini here... in the evening... im dreaming already! ![]() ![]() ---Somewhere between our laughs, our long talks, our silly little fights, and all our jokes, I fell in love. random I'm officially obsessed with lipstick + lip gloss Flipping through magazines Every shade appealed to me Hot pink, baby pink, nude, fuschia, red... Etc Probably only pantone colors can aptly describe the various shades haha.. MAC, shishedo, chanel, Revlon... Darling can I use your capitaland vouchers - put them to good use??? :p Sigh... Miss him lots. No sunday talk today cuz he's in KL for colleague's wedding Saturdays are always so perfect and lazy Hehe... Looking forward to the next week =) i feel like we've been tog for longer than just over 3 months.. (well, that is technically true, cuz i can't think of any other guy friend whom i can say knows more about me in the last 5 years than him, or any guy who can say they know me better than roland does - this fact is irreplaceable, it's like first mover advantage haha..) in a way, friendship is the solid foundation on which this relationship is based on... we "saved" lots of time because trust, respect and understanding was already formed as friends... and suddenly, i quite miss the bintan trip... hanging out with csbs on the beach and just tuang-ing.. csbs is a very valued group of friends to me, and no doubt it is also because of the existence of this group in my uni days, that helped me gained this wonderful relationship today :) i hope next yr perhaps we can go for such a trip together again dont mind going back bintan, or batam, or bangkok.. the next time, hopefully shu wan and shu hui will be able to join us too! looking at the photos from the trip that's 5 months ago.. i realised that the phuket photos are not uploaded yet! shujing and roland.. the two lazy people... hence my phuket post never came... hahah, because no photos! Life is funny, because we never can quite anticipate its changes. ---Somewhere between our laughs, our long talks, our silly little fights, and all our jokes, I fell in love. 15 minutes On monday, roland & i went to have lunch with wenxin at this cafe called "15 minutes" its housed inside lasalle... we went during lunch because its canteen-style and everything is supposed to be ready for collection within 15minutes... and because they give you this vibrator...hehehe.... it's called patron pager actually. when your food is ready, this pager will vibrator, shake and light up in red! like this... but of course it was vibrating. wenxin showing off her sexy mole. this was the only photo i remembered to take of the food we ordered. because after that we were too eager to start... this was roland's pasta - something with special pink sauce that tasted somewhat like, sauce with red wine, in my opinion. i forgot what roland said it tasted like... i ordered mushroom arriabiata and it was pretty spicy, with jalapenos in it wenxin had fish & chips, the fries and coleslaw was pretty good. but i din try the fish. prices were below $10.. i want to go try the salads.. they put the veggies in this cookie jar and you can shake it and then pour it out onto a plate. gimmicky but its fun. group shot... candid shot taken by wenxin. love it :) there is this look of camaraderie & affection in our eyes... hahaha it was unknowing & unintended. i love my almond-colored cardigan too! its so versatile and comfy!! definitely a great buy. on impulse, and out of boredom with my hair (i have this bad habit of hankering for long long hair and then when i have it, i will have the itch to snip it), i went to the hairdresser to snip off my hair & dye it violet. all for only $22.60 $2.80 for cut and $19.80 for dye the dye came out uneven lah! but well for such a cheap price i guess i cant really complain.. now i look like i only dyed the top 3 inches of my hair... and the rest is still like black.. ![]() love this skirt and belt set that i bought from f21! and as promised, a shot of my new sports shoes.. so minty right.. matched my pedicure... im quite excited about my next pedicure.. lots of colors i would like to try! all these look good for christmas... sparkly! the gold will look funny on toes though... this forest green is beautiful~ Labels: i have atrocious friends, if love wasnt so atrocious I would have stayed blind, whoever invented fashion committed an atrocious crime 0 wore their hearts on their sleeves Tuesday, August 24, 2010 6:13 PM
living life to the fullest i am bored. i think, we all should really stop worrying sometimes and just live for the moment. because we never know when our life may come to an end, or worse, when our life may be in danger (ie. paralysis, stroke, accident etc). what if we spent half our life worrying about the next half, but we only get to live till 40? although we cannot totally just get ourselves wasted every night and spend every penny we have.... because we may just somehow live to 90 years old and have not enough money for comfortable retirement... hahaha... so, life is really so uncertain. what we can do is to attain balance in our life. not be too guarded & safe, yet be wise enough to manage it properly. we should all live spontaneously while we are young. once we have kids and our own family, it is much more difficult to just say "lets get onto a plane to bali. there's cheap jetstar tickets" oh i love the entire outfit!! and the shoes make it perfect. saw a similar black pair at Schue shop at suntec but was hesistant because i will be so annoyed if the straps keep slipping down my ankle. ![]() love the black & white and the sheer chiffon material of this dress. woooo i want her legs. long, lean and tanned. and the heels. ---Somewhere between our laughs, our long talks, our silly little fights, and all our jokes, I fell in love. unlimited funds required my loves of the month. i've been reduced to only browsing, no buying. the very sight of my overflowing wardrobe/stocks is enough to put me off more new clothes! ![]() looks like the asos one i wanted..... ![]() amazing chiffon 'pants'. it just reminds me of jasmine in Aladdin. ![]() i got something like that! ![]() superb. ![]() spiderman.... its a bra that is meant to be seen. ![]() whiteblackberry.... all i have got to do is wait till june. ![]() ![]() ![]() and a new matt black camera coming before end of this year! goodbye or see you, I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.
