Im leaving on Cathay

my flight's tomorrow early morning!!
i have not packed my bags
hate to think of what to wear, worry whether i will bring sufficient bras, underwears, clothes, should i bring umbrella, how many shoes
ahha but on the other hand i m pretty thrilled when i think of the trip
getting excited but i hope i wont be disappointed
or quarrel with my sister over there (happened during our taiwan trip last year, not a pretty sight) but at least this time round it is just us.. no strangers/acquaintances
cant wait to snap away with my vivitar at Window of the world
i want to visit the europe section first for my Eiffel tower snaps

i hope the shopping will be good, i hope i can go to the physical American apparel (in shenzhen! im surprised they have it there...) and H&M (hongkong)
on the other hand im sad to leave my darling here. poor him...
take good care of yourself ok, promise i will send u at least 1 sms per day :)
use lots of internet sms to keep me updated. dont worry about me k?
muacks.

today i checked out forever21 again.
they have the cheek to come up with this! hahaha...
i was sorely tempted... love the idea of an entire lace back, and the long sleeves..
however, i dont quite fancy the neckline.. and i guess my all-over lace tunic will do the trick as well if i wear it with just a short tube inside.
plus i have too many lace stuff..

been lemming for nude heels/flats recently
they are just so versatile and elongates my legs!!
the only minus point?
gets easily dirtied
the very 1st day i bought one pair and wore them out
i found a black streak across the sides

still thinking whether this is nice. and necessary.
although it is damn hard to find nice and comfy flats... so i always feel like buying more pairs to store them first hahaha

love the back of the dress!

somehow i really like the black top/dress with the double straps off shoulder.

i hope i will get a job soon... its tiring to keep repeating and going for interviews...
though slacking is great, but having an income will feel greater..
i hope i get the marcom job... call me pls!
see you when im back! need to go to the money changer!

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

Thank you Forever21

my mood lifted because.........

the all-over lace tunic is finally back!!!!
omg, now i dont have to beg this random girl every now and then to sell it to me...
i have been wanting this since march this year, and i will email her every few mths to ask if she can sell to me.. i think she must have thought i was mad... lol

ever since i saw it on rumi

i fell in love with it!!
i think the price dropped 7USD this time round.. but even if it was USD29.90 i would have ordered anyway
i just pray that the spree will faster close, if the tunic goes oos, i dont know who to kill for it haha
so excited.
now.. if only this dress will come back... i have waited even longer for its return... 2 years at least!

come on F21... more miracles pls :)

I have been very careful with money recently and not online shopped for sometime...
i mean, compared to the me in uni.... the no. of parcels that came per week would range from 2-5. while nowadays sometimes the postman only comes once a month, maybe twice
haha.. since i am going to HK/Shenzhen this weekend, i hope i can go to H&M there.. and maybe see more than what i saw during my last trip there..

lastly, this is my upcoming wish... anyone wants to get me an early xmas gift? :P
the long sleeved u-back dress... now in velvety black!
i can just imagine the touch of the material...
velvet is so 70s but i imagine it will look very luxe with some gold earrings.
cant wait cant wait.
USD42 - not cheap, not cheap
but American apparel, always worth it..
i have never resell any of the AA items i bought except one.. and that was only coz i wanted to get it in another color. haha.

talking about it just makes me excited. i love long sleeved dresses now.

going for 3 interviews in 1 week is no fun. tiring to repeat myself. i think i should bring along a parrot who can help me repeat my answers to
'why do you want this job'
'why did you leave your previous job'
'when can you start work' etc
but i guess, i shd be optimistic, at least the interviews are coming.

Lastly, our new venture PAUSE&PLAY is launched.
www.pauseplayshop.com
please help to spread the word if you have any friends who online shop :)
will appreciate alot.
Thank you darling for working on the website.

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

the D word

dilemmas
directions
decisions

im in a dilemma over deciding which direction to go

last week was a full week of attending the DWG real estate/ultimate power selling course
i must say, it was interesting, motivating and i learnt so much that will come in useful when i can finally buy my own house
the two days of 'standing in the heat' were very tiring...
i felt as if i was in FOC... we played games, we ran 1 km at toa payoh park (amazingly i pushed myself and i dint stop till the end point.. haha, even felt like going for more jogs.. it must be the adrenaline and the feeling of accomplishment after that, since i hardly ever jog)
we even had a bazaar whereby my team sold real toto tickets.. the public members were given fake currency in which we must sell our products/services to them in exchange for their currency.. it was a brilliant idea.. what made the toto tickets so hot was the fact that that night the ultimate winning is 3million!!
our team ended up earning the title of Best Booth Sales, and won $300 to divide amongst everyone.. most of the people there were much older than me, and it seemed that everyone wanted to get rich, but i also saw and knew not everyone would/could make it...
nonetheless i enjoyed the course.. and i gathered knowledge.
(i should!! i paid almost 1k for everything...haha)

indeed, the conclusion of the course also brings me to the next level
i am still confused.. what should i do next? should i look for a job, should i go into real estate full-time? what is my next step?
i thought of abandoning looking for another job and just try out being a real estate agent..
but i have my concerns over the lack of stable income (esp cuz i am running out of money now....) as well as feeling intimidated/afraid about how i will fare in this industry
additionally even if i manage to close deals, the money only comes in 3-4 months later...
what would i eat in the meantime?
everyday, i am pondering over these and that
i then decided, maybe i should apply for relief teaching plus start to serve buyers (be a 'runner') so that at least i can get some income from the teaching, as well as access how i will fare in a school environment..
then i realised, it is going to be school holidays already so it wont work out for now..
i also thought of applying to teach in January on a contract basis
so that i can gather a feel of being a teacher before i decide if i want to go NIE and sign the bond
if its good, then i can enrol next july..
although this idea brings me mixed feelings..
so anyway, after consideration, i decided to just continue applying around for jobs (but preferably no more AE / agency jobs cuz they will take up too much time to me to work on PAUSE&PLAY as well as being a runner)
maybe i can find a job that can give me some income and i can be a part-time real estate agent
till i either realise i want to stay in the marketing/advertising industry or i realise i can make it in real estate...
i guess being in a dilemma, and constant worrying will lead me nowhere...
only action will help me understand better what i should do, where i should head

no doubt the money is very tempting...
imagine if i close a few deals, i think i can easily repay off my study and computer loans... every month now they are deducting $200 from me for my fujitsu laptop (which is already not in use now..) so i am constantly thinking how good if i can quickly settle my loans.
though the past month of being out of job has brought me much worry about the future,
it has also allowed me to think more and consider the future
life will be tough without sufficient money
holidays need money, raising a kid needs money, marriage, buying house, buying furniture...
everything needs money.. the more money you have, the more choices you have
isnt that so true?

i do envy those people who seem to have it all
money, brains, looks, cars, relationships, family...
i sometimes wonder, what is lacking in their lives
or are they just so blessed, and that God/LIFE is indeed unfair?

on another note, i chanced upon a family's journal
and i read about the life of a young couple in their 30s with their 2 year old kid
saw the photos of their toddler, very cute and cheeky
it seems that after marriage (or more specifically after having children)
life changes 180 degrees
watching movies, going on dates with your husband/wife becomes a privilege
no longer the norm
i also saw their gatherings with friends, everyone brings along their babies/kids
i imagine it would be quite nice actually haha...
and it led me to wonder, who will i be meeting when i have my kids?
imagine...
shuwan, shujing, shuhui, roland, siting, mingkeat, wenxin... all bringing their spouses and kids
we will have a blast trying to catch up amist all the crying and noises from the kids
wouldnt it be quite scary also, this thought of us all turning into 'aunties' and 'uncles'
somehow, i define being an adult as being a parent
without going through pregnancy and raising children, i think one will always have a more selfish and individualistic nature
but when kids come along, we gotta learn to give our time to them, give them the best, and put ourselves as secondary in our own lives
at least till they grow old enough to take care of themselves
the sad thing about raising kids i think is the point when their wings grow hard and they fly off (literal translation)...
not necessarily in a bad way.. but more so in the sense that they grow up, and its natural they want freedom, their own friends, and form their own relationships etc
i am trying to look at myself, say 5 years down the road
how would i be like?
at 18 years old, i couldnt for the life of me, imagine this is how i would be at 23
infact 5 years just blinked past, and i hardly feel like i changed much...
maybe similarly when i reached 28, i will feel the same still...
but who knows how i will be like then?
hopefully married, and living comfortably with a good salary...
and a car...

sometimes i feel as if, i am on the blink of edge between an adult and someone who is still hiding in the shadows of the past
i should embrace the future isnt it?
but i guess, uncertainty is not in my blood

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

seesaw

Mood swings...
They are the bane of my life
hate how i can feel so optimistic one moment
And be moody and worried the next
Wondering when is my next job
wondering when my money will run out

I am in a dilemma
What to do... what to choose..
I am feeling tired easily
Guess its age catching up with me
wish time could travel
Either to the past or to the future.
Anything is better than the present
The uncertainty of now

i feel just like a student now
Going for the real estate classes
930am - 6pm
its v informative and interesting
Not such an easy job...
and i have increased respect for the profession now
but is it for me?
Am i up to it?
shrugs

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

Time

Time is this funny thing
This intangible but so important detail that encompasses everything
We always look back and say how time flies
Indeed I have been feeling as if time escapes out of my clutches no matter how hard I try to grasp it
Every moment of it
Try to sleep later, wake earlier,
Devoting time to my bf, friends, dramas, sending out resumes, working on pause&play
Time
It eludes me
More so than sleep
24rs a day, simply not enough
Days morphed into weeks and it's already 3 weeks since I left img
Knowing that time would not have seemed to have passed so fast if I continued working there
18 hrs a day, I pity my colleagues

Still there seems little time for me
Not enough
As I struggle to fit in all that I want to do
Even bathing & getting ready to go out seems to take up an awfully precious 30mins
Travelling another 45mins
Take that x2 and I have lost over 2 hrs of time
Time
The fleeting moments of which I choose to be awake
Seems to fly

Will I have time to realise my dreams?
An impulse to soar,
But I have no wings

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

there's probably no right or wrong

Recently i fell in love with a song that has been lying in 'My Received Files' for the longest time... dont even remember who sent me it.. but anyway, its a nice, slow emo love song... quite catchy too:)

Insensitive by Jann Arden

Watch the youtube video here

Lyrics
How do you cool your lips
After a summer’s kiss
How do you rid the sweat
After the body bliss
How do you turn your eyes
From the romantic glare
How do you block the sound
Of a voice you’d know anywhere

Oh, I really should have known
By the time you drove me home
By the vagueness in your eyes
Your casual good-byes
By the chill in your embrace
The expression on your face
That told me
Maybe You might have some advice to give
On how to be
Insensitive
Insensitive
Insensitive

How do you numb your skin
After the warmest touch
How do you slow your blood
After the body rush
How do you free your soul
After you’ve found a friend
How do you teach your heart
It’s a crime to fall in love again

Oh, you probably won’t remember me
It’s probably ancient history
I’m one of the chosen few
Who went ahead and fell for you
I’m out of hope, I’m out of touch
I fell too fast, I feel too much
I thought that you might have
Some advice to give on how to be
Insensitive
I really should have known
By the time you drove me home
By the vagueness in your eyes
Your casual good-byes
By the chill in your embrace
The expression on your face
That told me
Maybe You might have some advice to give
On how to be
Insensitive
Insensitive
Insensitive

Anyway, since it is the fall/winter season (though not in singapore!), i am seeing alot of nice boots around.. so i will be posting up the things i see and like again :)

awesome boots.

love the dress, i checked it out and it costs like duno how much in sweden, after conversion about 300 bucks singapore dollars. whoooop! the intricacy of the lace.

love the paranomic photos above.. and the entire outfit is from AA. floppy hat + super low back nylon dress. when can they be mine?

nude heels are another of my love. but its terribly hard to find a nice solid pair in singapore that is cheap but classy. i saw one, but at raoul........... hefty price tag i bet. haha.

without a doubt, christian louboutins rocks.

Baby and i watched (500) days of summer yesterday, dont know why they said its a romantic comedy. i thought its more like a romantic tragedy hahaha.. oops, hope i am not revealing too much. (do not read on if you wish to watch it) the movie was really sweet and the actors have great chemistry, but its a terribly sad ending that i did not like. but i suppose that is what makes it different from the usual love movie, that it is a new age movie that reflects reality, and how love may not always go the way you hope it will.

but i must say the actress and actor are both very good looking and charming. especially joseph gordon-levitt the actor. he has a boyish charm, not handsome but definitely cute in my opinion. nice goofy smile :) just the right person to play this role i think. to make us feel sad for him. pretty emo guy haha. i like how he wears a pull over vest with his shirts and tie. the preppy look.

she looks quite different with the darker hair though...
but her eyes are this intense shade of blue. gorgeous.

so i went to TBWA for an interview yesterday, it is still pretty surreal. TBWA is afterall, one of the biggest and most famous agencies worldwide. i feel so honoured just to be able to go there and chat with the account director and manager, both who have had much experience in the advertising industry and shared alot with me. after knowing more i just feel like 'damn...i have fallen in love!' hahaha. i really hope i can get a chance to work there.. or in some other bigger agency, just to know how it is like, to be amidst the top talents and experienced ppl.. feel like i can learn soooo much.. its just so wayyyy different from the impetus what group??, they even have a DI department!! although i was abit stunned to know the size of their creative team... woo.. maybe they work really hard/really fast haha.. its not easy to get into big agencies so even if they offer me like a pathetic salary below 2k i think i will go, just to be able to say 'been there, done that'.

i shant think about any results... and be more dilligent in sending out my resumes and stuff. hopefully i will get more calls soon:(

so much for our 'prestigious' and 'valuable' degree that is worth 24k and 4 years of my time.
i dont find much use for my degree. maybe use it to wipe backside. haha.

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.
