you treat me like a rose

howie just did the sweetest thing
he met up with me for lunch, brought healthy homesome home-cooked aglio olio (without salt & lots of chili), grapes and a stalk of pretty blossomed dark red rose with a card. i always wanted to receive flowers at the office, it seems so romantic haha.
it dawned on me this scene seemed to come out right from the korean movie My Sassy Girl! jeon ji hyun's character had asked the guy to bring her a rose when she was in school playing the piano, and he placed the rose inside this metal tin pretending to be a packed food delivery guy.
i thought it was my own version of that particular sweet moment from that movie ;)

Thanks baby. it was a very thoughtful, and sweet gesture.
my first rose from you, and it is one that i wished would never have to wither.
looking at the rose just makes me smile.

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

A night to remember

Frankly, tonight was one of the best gathering I have had in ages
As in damn good & memorable
There was so much laughter & jokes, gossip & stories,
From ris low to low 'drive' to 'knee' to ghostly tales
It felt and seemed really like those good o' times in hall
When these times were aplenty and kept us going in difficult, trying moments of school, projects and assignment. Not to mention pop quizzes.
There was something in the atmosphere tht I haven felt for some time
Perhaps its the rebonding of friends and mending of once broken ties
It felt like no one ever left.

Truly a night to remember, oh the things that we could come up with to tickle ourselves
Too bad we had to end it
But I'm really looking forward to our long due 3d2n graduation trip to bintan
Thank you csbs for making this friendship so much fun and I'm loving every bit of our memories
I haven't laughed so heartily since I left ntu
Love u guys
:)

I'll be the fool, or the exception to the rule.

Bel fa niente - the beauty of doing nothing.

Ah! I finally got my nude pumps from aldo.
Thank god thr was the last pair in 38.
Can't wait to don them
At 4.5" I might finally be able to tower (or be of equal height) over smelly, stinky peeps onboard the mrt
Yayness

I am doing a mask now
Poor face hasn't got much nutrients cept for daily vichy moisturiser(smells darn gd and loves the matt touch)
Cause I'm usually too lazy
Just saw that there is a new perfume from vera wang, glam princess
I have decided tht I must collect all the vera wang princess perfume
The cover of the perfume can be worn as a ring! How not to love?
'Crushed red berries, pear, orange blossom, vanilla orchid, marshmallow & cashmere wood'
Sounds gooood.

And I'm meeting shuenyun for pedicure soon
Aah, all these talk makes me feel so girly!

Yesterday, howie & I went to silvery moon @pasir ris park again
The food's stil yummy, had their sambal prawn pasta & sambal fried rice
Fiery!
Their drinks are affordable too, 2 for $12 martinis
The lychee one comes with 3 juicy lychees
There's also pineapple and sugarcane martini, sounds funny right
But pineapple was nice
Last night tho we had boubon coke $6.50 and corona beer
Not much since we drove thr

Last tues baby's bday, we celebrated @ overeasy at one fullerton
Expensive but the devil eggs thingy and pasta was pretty awesome
But not a regular place to dine at, I suppose
Quite atas
I wld like to go to bar stop @ devonshire next
And of course the place I wld really like to go is this old colonial black&white restaurant
At one of the parks. Suddenly forgot the name :/
Quite short termed memory these days

Back to work tmr
Its good I don't get the dreadful feeling on sun nights now
Maybe cause my workplace's pretty cool
And I'm enjoying e independence, the balance & the structure
Although I almost got an heart attack when one of my numberous ads for next week was delayed at production
And media agency called to ask whr was the ad
Grrr..
Multi tasking and switching my brain between print, fax, online banners & edms (the most trouble of all)
I'm lovin' it
It makes me feel useful in this huge mega cruel world of advertising
Where would I be, without you?

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

Cause its just you & me

Happy
Happy
Happy
Happy birthday my dear!

You're 2X years old, so remember to act young! Haha
Sweet 18 always.
Hugs!

Dearest howie,
Hope thr will be more happiness coming your way
Never think or feel alone
If you would only stretch out your hand
You'll find me just beside.

I'll be your best kept secret

we ought to ask ourselves

The relationship between commitment and doubt is by no means an antagonistic one. Commitment is healthiest when it is not without doubt but in spite of doubt.
- Rollo May

doubts cause people to relocate their hearts further & further away
because they are afraid of getting it broken

doubts cause people to hesitate, to worry,
to protect themselves
to build a fortress

sometimes it all feels like everything is going up in smoke.
what a paradox.

i wonder where do i stand.
where do i occupy.
or am i just hanging by the moment.

--
Dashboard Confessional - Vindicated

Hope dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption
Winding in and winding out
The shine of it has caught my eye

And roped me in
So mesmerizing, so hypnotizing
I am captivated

[Chorus]
I am Vindicated
I am selfish
I am wrong
I am right
I swear I'm right
I swear I knew it all along

And I am flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now the things you swore you saw yourself

So clear
Like the diamond in your ring
Cut to mirror your intentions
Oversized and overwhelmed
The shine of which has caught my eye
And rendered me so isolated, so motivated
I am certain now that

[Chorus]

So turn
Up the corners of your lips
Part them and feel my finger tips
Trace the moment, fall forever
Defense is paper thin
Just one touch and I'd be in
Too deep now to ever swim against the current
So let me slip away [3x]
So let me slip against the current
So let me slip away [4x]

[Chorus]

Slight hope
It dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption...

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

catching up

a short post before i crash.

Hongkong trip was a blast. absolutely enjoyable & loved every minute of it.
dont have the photos from howie yet but here are the highlights of my trip:
1. came back with the much coveted 2nd hand LV epi leather noe in mustard with purple lining. costs me only 2000HKD. 1/4 of the original price. actually i realise i dont really care that its 2nd hand, i just like this design & color too much. dont think its still in production so 1st hand is impossible. thanks to the high exchange rate too.

a sample photo of the bag i got. will post photos of me carrying it when i get them:)
beams.

2. ocean park was amazing. the weather was chilly & unbeatable. tried the rides and im so proud of myself that i managed to conquer the seemingly most daunting one - The Abyss Turbo Drop. this is the free fall ride whereby we will ride to over 50 metres high and then a few seconds later, drop down. i felt like there was no seat below me, and nothing i was holding onto. the anticipation was making my legs shake but i gotta to say, the view at the top, terrific!! even on the rollercoaster, and this space rider thing (which left us giddy and unable to walk straight thereafter), the views of the mountains and the seas in HK are just breath-taking.

3. the lovely hotel room (which looks like a serviced apartment) and the amazing picturesque view we had facing the sea & tsing yi bridge. one of the best hotels i've stayed.

4. weather was like air-con on the streets, similar to when i went there & shenzhen last nov. it was nice, but we were a little unprepared with our thin tees so i got a sweater from ocean park's souvenir shop. expensive, but a good memoir of the trip. the sweater is really cute too!

5. and i got to mention this, i tried the durian & 黑糯米 dessert i mentioned in my previous post,
and it is simply divine. it is the BEST DESSERT i have ever eaten. i finished every drop of it. that's how nice it is. hahaha. i know it sounds crazy but it was just nice, not too sweet even though there was durian, and it was not too sickening, easy to eat. i will definitely want to have that again when i return to HK someday... (maybe not so fast... cuz i've been there 2 times in the past 1 year already haha). but yeah, it was really really delicious.

6. this was my 1st trip overseas with bf. so thanks for making this memorable & so enjoyable dear:) i know you had a good break too, so look forward to your new start soon! hehe.

i'll blog about the rest of the trip when im less busy!
work's been quite crazy...

at the hongkong airport, i went to prada shop and i fell in love with these bags. i think i'm slowly becoming a fan of prada.

trust me, the bags are so much more prettier, classier & elegant in real life. the nappa leather is so soft to the touch. but at $3890 for the nappa leather version and $1950 for the nylon version, they arent on my affordable list right now. it's okay, i will save up. :) i love the taupe/cream color one. the black is nice and very easy to match too. argh. (have i become a bag lover? gasp!)
oh btw, kate spade is much more cheaper there by abt 100-200 dollars. :)

Prada Vernice Gaufre Frame Bag.
you really got to see this in real life, touch it to understand its beauty.
i hope it will become like an icon of prada or something, like the chanel 2.55, so that at least when i have enough money to buy it, it will still be there haha.

well i have set up my mind to focus on the bigger things in life :D
and by that i mean, saving up and bypassing smaller purchases that are seasonal/impulsive/transient (think dresses, shoes & magazines) to obtain bigger purchases in the long run.
my bigger purchases refer to branded bags, electronic gadgets, handphones (my htc is lagging very badly, i want to get a blackberry next), cars (my sister just got a black Camry! wooo... cant wait to test drive it hahah! it's black color though, if only it was shiny red.) etc.
hahaha and nope i have not turned into some materialistic freak.
i just think that these are things that are more worth my bucks than things like clothes, which dont really have much value, especially after its no longer in fashion or whatever.
at least branded bags can still be sold off after passed their seasons.
so, im going to swear off online shopping. its true, i hardly buy anything online now, really a rarity for me who used to love it so much.
i used to buy alot of clothes + shoes + whatever online, not bad just buy, cheap also buy, everything was nice so buy, and there was a scary time stress in school triggered my impulsive buying so much that i only had a one digit in my bank (and a very nice digit). really not funny to recall, i remember telling no one. so yup, even though this was eons ago, but its a reminder to myself too.
i think about mileage & value alot more these days.
perhaps its a sign of age & maturity.

and this is the camera i would like to save up for.
canon powershot s90
i hv seen the photo quality, really clear & sharp.
my casio camera is very pathetic now, images turn out too grainy.
hope to get this camera by May this year.

bed time.

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

dim sum crazy

im planning the upcoming HK trip
and i've 1, 2, 3....4.... FIVE dim sum restaurants recommended by different people (ie. caddie, people's blogs, hungrygowhere etc)
hahahha....
im so going to stuff myself with dim sum over there.
except that there's not enough time!
i like to go to their 茶餐厅 too.
those that sell luncheon meat maggi mee, 丝袜奶茶, and toast.
sounds good, no??? :)

i still remember my first time to HK
i had this HKD10 huge ass soupy mee at one cafe along the street where they sell tons of sportswear
so cheap and nice can.

yummy!!
but i think probably cannot find that cheap one now! hahaha.
it must be inflation.

and because our trip is so short actually
im just like so excited and want to cover lots of places
im so tempted to bring my instax camera
but thinking practically, the hotel is in 'boonlay' so it will be damn heavy to lug around for 1 day...
sigh~
i read alot of reviews and the desserts at許留山 does sound & look very nice
but then i saw this pic

this is some durian and 黑糯米 thingy. it just looks too irresistable!! from Honeymoon desserts recommended by caddie. i think i might try this instead, depending on how i manage to navigate my way there. though i already indicated instructions on my plan im sure we will still get lost there! *wonders if my gps will work there??*

two more days.
cant wait to get to even changi airport
and then reach HK airport.. i want to check out the agnes b there
wonder if its cheaper.
and my heart is itching to buy that LV epi leather 'bucket' bag.
so pray that i can find that store!

i know i have been repeating this
so i shall say in chinese
好兴奋阿!!!
cant wait to cosy up in the nice hotel, warm sheets with my hon!
sleep with 3-4 pillows. hope they remember to give us a queen bed.
好兴奋阿!!!

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

Hello Hong Kong, 3rd time & most exciting

i was searching high & low for the word doc which i planned the places to go etc
and it was missing
i was like argh!! caddie sent me so many places too...
and then bingo i found it in the recycling bin.
i must have accidentally deleted it while clearing my ever-messy desktop.

so yeah!! cant wait for the anticipation on friday night.
and then saturday morning, shop around at dfs for my make up products
and enjoy a good movie on cathy pacific airline.
hope that the lunch onboard will be tasty too =)
and hopefully we get comfortable seats!

if i were to describe one thing that i find or think is uniquely hongkong, or at least so far in my modest travel history, it will be the following:

all the colorful neon street lights & advertising billboards
it has this retro vintage feel that i love.
that reminds me, should i bring my lomo or instax camera to HK this time??
(I'm guilty to admit that i have not even developed my last roll from my last HK trip muahahha)
erm. we shall see! i want to travel light so maybe no instax camera, since our hotel is super not near the city (its at castle peak there, akin to singapore's boon lay haha!)
but apparently the view is great.

typing all these makes me really, really excited.
but i missed the jetstar sale tickets to phuket =(
better luck, and faster fingers next time!
although i think somehow boracay looks more delicious than phuket.
i want my 'budget' maldives =)

holidays holidays. next year my plan is to visit one other country that i have not been to before, either Japan or Australia.
need to save money. so please, stop buying clothes.
shoes, once in a while will do :D
and stop eating expensive food.
save save save! 省省省! (sounds like the shop&save ad)

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.
