“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”

so Coco Chanel said this sentence which I absolutely agree with.
It's like 女人的专利 to be able to doll up and look beautiful..
However to be classy and fabulous looking is akin to doing up a nude make-up look,
it looks perfect and effortless but it is definitely not effortless.
I think the highest form of praise for any one is not being fashionable
but being well-put-together/effortless.
Imagine looking so put together that you look like you just threw on your clothes without any thought and put on flawless simple makeup to step out of your house.

I admit I have outgrown my love for dresses and to a certain extent, even for heels (surprise!) Buying clothes no longer give me the same adrenaline as before, perhaps because now i have so much clothes that it actually frustrates me because i cannot find the ones i really want, amidst those that i no longer wear but cannot bear to throw/donate.

And also because in my 3 years lifespan/addiction/obsession with online shopping, i have bought/worn almost every type of dress and clothing/shoes in trend, save for the Harem pants, which i never understood why girls wanted pants with such a elongated crotch area. they look like they were designed for clowns. oh, and denim dresses too. denim dresses only look good on GUESS models. So, thinking back, I have done the bodycon, the crossback, the tieback, the Uback, the maxi, the jelly flats, the kaftan, the satin, and so on.... so now everything on ASOS or most blogshops looks boring to me. I used to click "open in new tabs" until my browser was about to explode haha... but now one scroll down and i click "x" on the page. The only clothes i buy now are ironically the basics, like pants, tops, which i lack like crazy.
Heels still remain my deepest love, but growing older has made me more practical, and more alert to the fact that my feet can no longer take abuse like before. :p So now i am wearing more flats, easier to run for buses, better for shopping. I only wear the scary 4 inches to dinners and wear the classic black 2.5 inches for work. even 3-3.5 inches are a little intimidating for me nowadys since i am so laid back. some "credit" goes to roland for turning me into a more laid back person. He said i was trying too hard to be sophisticated before, so he prefers a more natural/casual me. oh well, every girl wants to quickly turn into a lady.

X'mas is in 24 days and no doubt i have accumulated enough visual orgasms for me to do up two types of X'mas wishlists, one is like reaching for the sky, and one is more down-to-earth.

Shall we look at the realistic before the jaw-dropping ones first?

Due to my recent, newly acquired obsession with make-up (specifically, lipstick which i have always secretly loved, and lipgloss which i have learnt to admire), i have a couple to wish about.

1. Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette
For eyeshadows, i am still not adventurous, prefering to go with neutrals and i would love to try a smoky look (without looking like a panda) someday. waiting for this palatte to restock at Sephora for me to test it in real life.

2. Too Faced Naked Eye Palette

After doing some online research, i actually prefer the colors on this than Urban Decay's, as UD's seem to be more bronzy and warm. I will be checking this out during my 1st visit to Sephora this saturday (so slow i know.......) not a fan of the bulky packaging tho.

3. Bobbi Brown Palette

Looks good, though i am not sure of its exact name. sleek packaging helps :)

4. a Coco Chanel beauty bible.

Won't that be cool? Heehee

5. These gorgeous Chanel babies in the glossy black pouch!! I didnt see it in SG so far.. :(
But the brush set will be a good thing to have. I recently got a lip pencil that has a lip brush on the other end, and i realise how much i prefer painting my lips with a brush than straight out of the tube. it's probably the first time in my life i like painting. the effect is also more polished.

6. Gucci Guilty parfum

Honestly, i dont recall the smell. But i love the packaging, though i am not a Gucci bag fan. So it will be more like to add on to my parfum collection.
If Chanel has something like that i will snap it up. heehee.

7. All these lippies to satisfy my lip pucker obsession:
Mac Viva Glam Gaga
Mac Shy Girl
Mac Creme Cup
Mac Creme d' Nude
Mac Please Me
Chanel Rouge Coco Chintz + Chanel Rouge Allure etc etc
NARS Belle Du Jour
YSL 148 Tea Rose
Lancome L'ABSOLU ROUGE series

and now the jawwwwwwwww-dropping wishlist
1. Chanel's signature studded logo earrings in small. no need for pictures. i will save up to get it next year, if they still somehow exist by then.

2. Chanel's classic 2.55 in small
doesnt help much that my boss has been bringing hers to the office this week, and conveniently leaving it around like it was a Charles & Keith bag. I was so tempted to snap a photo of it but all i could get was a picture of the back view. the logo was love
3. Prada nylon/lambskin bag
The lambskin one in nude is too prrretty to be brought out, seriously. the texture of the lambskin material is like sooooo soft, and feels like hotel bedsheets. a dream bag. this isnt cheap too, saw it at HK airport for $4k....

this nylon version (can't find the photo of the exact one i liked but is similar) is more affordable at under $2k... as such, this falls under my "to-do list before 30" (which i will blog about in my next post). Black and gold never fails. lub the PRADA gold words. in the meantime, i pray for Charles & Keith to come up with an inspired one hehehhe.. :P
4. Christian Louboutins Lace Heels
Gorgeous and stunning lace covered heels, especially the peep toe version. Cant say much except that these heels are the bomb!!

5. Sensible (that makes it the perfect excuse to buy it) Ferragamo Classic Heels
Well if i cant get past just a free Christian Louboutin shoe bag from my boss, i am sure i can get these very very classic beauties, right??? *once, roland agreed that Ferragamo is worth paying $800 for..... so i can get these one day right dear?? hehehe" second item under "to-do list under 30"

i feel so purged now that i've vented out this long long post which was sitting for 20 days in my draft folder.
PS - i am moving to another blog platform soon, if all things goes well...... byebye blogspot.. its not my fault that you havent been upgrading yourself much to follow suit with all the web-savvy and happening tools that other platforms are using. watch this space for the new url. till then........
