phuket memories 08/07 - 12/07

brought along my instax mini to phuket... here are the photos shujing scanned...
the hello kitty ones are really cute. every photo frame is different!
i want the disney series next! (: love all the photos we took! too bad ms hor didnt allow me to take of her wearing her damn rocker jacket. :P

this was taken at maya bay.

if you can see the numerous magazine pasting at the back of the photo, it is because the toilet sliding window was intended to be translucent... haha... we were frantically pasting them up the moment we arrived there... at 12 midnight, can u imagine?
i think this speaks volumes... so i shall leave it as that (:

this was taken at maya bay and another beach that we went to.... during our phiphi island hopping. love the sun rays and the clear waters. oh and the sand.

shujing lying there under the colorful umbrellas, very retro. there was another pic of her at the beach but she refuse to scan in! kns. nice lor.

tic tac toe.

on our last day, we walked all the way to karon beach.
nice big waves there. looked scary though.

me and shujing playing connect 4 at the cafe while having our dinner! wooo~~
we each won one game! (:

walking back to kata beach to find FOOD!! we walked for like 30 mins at least without any breakfast (no eggs for roland) haha... shujing was like "can we take taxi!!!??" and then roland went "aiya... its just another 5-10mins walk" but after another 10mins, we are still not yet near our destination... and then roland will go "another 5-10mins only, really..." while me and sj try to keep our cool under the hot sun.
will post the other photos when the lazy bum retrieves from his camera.

Somewhere between our laughs, our long talks, our silly little fights, and all our jokes, I fell in love.

visual orgasm

recently, i picked up the term visual orgasm from my colleague kaka.
she uses it to refer to her daily ogles at korean boybands like super junior, 2am etc.
haha... i havent done a pictorial post on the things that please me visually for the longest time.
need to spruce up my blog abit with the things i like. (:

first of all, though i havent been online shopping much for these couple of months, the vintage thrift stores on ebay are getting alot of likes from me! the dresses are really pretty and unique. the only reason that stops me from buying is the bids go on too high! plus they are in USD so after conversion, i dont think its worth the money.

but well, just to show some of the pretty things i found:

saw these prada bags in real life recently. nice but the other lambskin one is still the best design.
although my colleague claims their bags are not very good in quality.

love the jumpsuit on her. tall people have such advantage.

been into shoes again recently. but see only, never buy.
i will probably buy a black pair of heels soon though. theres always room for excuse for a pair of classic black heels. these are not the real christian louboutins of course..

and i thought these steve madden heels are to-die-for!!

i saw someone selling this almost new canon s90 online for $500. (why am i buying everything online..... even the blackberry phone.. was through email with singtel hahaa)
it is like a compact dslr with the body of a digital camera. very tempting because wenxin told me that her cousin is using it and its how awesome. cant get over the beautiful black matt finish but im afraid i might find the features a little too cheem for a novice like me. shall see how. the last camera i got, i tried to buy a cheaper one but lets just say sometimes you get what you pay for. haha. that was a casio, so i am swearing off casio camera for now. shall go for good old trusty canon. although it is probably just me, because wenxin used her casio camera for a good no. of years, dropped it like 100 times and still it worked better than mine.

and then here are some photos from my company's outing about 2 months ago?
at east coast park... i remembered cycling from one end of east coast to the jetty area.. my bum hurt! but it was all worth it...

there are a couple of changes for Q3 in my job.
change in scope of work and there is a new guy taking over as my client.
not really looking forward, but i guess i got to try to see the silver linings..
one of my colleague is leaving for DDB soon.. it brings back some pangs of envy and recollection of my interviews at LB and tribal DDB, especially when i see that sometimes its not about your job ability/experience... your work attitude can suck but you just need luck and know the right people.. get the right connections.. she said she will lookout for me over there, but im not sure i am ready to leave as yet.

its 5months already here, and i need to push myself to complete that 1 year before i leave, i guess... perhaps i am those who get bored and feel unchallenged easily. but i miss 'that' kind of advertising/branding... creating from scratch, and feeling involved in a project that brings me satisfaction when i see it out on shelfs/newspaper/tv... just like when i see the new magnolia logo with the two blue cloudy-like brackets/swirls nowadays, it always brings a smile on my face as i remember the days at design bridge.

one day....
i am keeping this in mind....

as for the topic of "no other", things have been great, and are getting better (:
finally, it is more or less out in the open and friends' reactions have been sometimes awkward but mostly encouraging, and i feel relieved and glad just to be able to behave normally now..
to receive their blessings probably helped alot..
it was definitely an unexpected relationship to come along,
but it is also definitely something that opened up alot of possibilities once i started exploring.
i must say it feels better than i could have ever expected or imagined.
it feels like right there infront of us all along,
but just when you thought you knew that person well...
you realised it was just but the 1st layer....
and there are more and more layers to be known and for me to discover...
(:

protecting one-self: Power Over Cervical Cancer (POCC)

ok, i just decided, before the end of this year i should go get cervical cancer vaccine.
because i read that, it is most effective when taken during the age of 16-25.
and i am going to be 25 soon.. ):
so better go for it...

apparently....

Cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer that affects us women worldwide.
In Singapore, one woman is diagnosed with Cervical Cancer every 2 days, and one loses the fight every 5 days.

Cervical cancer IS preventable.
It is the ONLY preventable woman's cancer.

so i hope, this little post will encourage all my female friends who are reading this..
to do the same...
just ping me if you want to join me to get the vaccine... hahaa...
we can go for it together...
there are 3 jabs, i think it will be spread out. 0 - 2 - 6 months.
and btw, getting the vaccine doesnt mean you dont need to do any more pap smears..
it is still advised to get one done at least once every 3 years..
it will help to spot any cancerous cells in women's cervix.
please dont do it during your menses haha.
ideally it should be done 14 days after the 1st day of your period.

although getting the vaccine would mean $xxx amount flying out of our already shallow pockets,
but prevention is always better than cure.
it is a real risk for any woman.
so do take the time to think a little more about it, like i did (:

you can visit http://www.facebook.com/POCCSG and like their page.
first 3,000 people to do so, will apparently, receive a $160 spa voucher.
and this is not an advertorial hahaha, i wish it was :P

i shall change my signing-off signature to this lovely quote:

"Somewhere between our laughs, our long talks, our silly little fights, and all our jokes, I fell in love."

it is time to 'retire' the following
"goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake."
i guess it has been a series of goodbyes and the mistakes i have made will serve as good reminders for my future.
and i am not after any more best kept secrets.
afterall, the best things in life should be shared with everyone else.

my long due updates about phuket (i still miss the blue-green sea and the awesome fine sand), job, and everything else will come soon.
stay tuned! :P
