late nights fever

im really supposed to be sleeping
BUT i just cant get myself to
maybe because the hours are precious
ticking away
the supposedly (TBC) last week of my days of post-graduation rest
to be honest, i am filled with a little dread and fear about a new employment
and that dread was magnified (and anger seeped in) after hon told me how he's expected to burn his weekends
for his company to take photos for any big or small fucking silly events that are merely for storage in the archive. oh the false pretense of this industry is sickening.
damn them, have they never heard of a digital camera?
now cameras are all 10 or 12 megapixels, im sure they dont need my hon to go down with their lousy ancient DSLR just to take some photos of them participating in the standard chart marathon or someone's birthday party
my hon is not a freelance photographer, and they dont even compensate him in any form for sacrificing his weekends
they dont even ask
they simply command
this incident rudely awakens me to the fact that employees have to do what their bosses ask (or rather, command)
it is with gritted teeth and a forced smile that we are carrying out duties beyond our already stressful 8-12 hours weekdays
hon, i feel for you.. and pls dont think that i will be upset or disappointed about the flea

sigh, the life of a typical singaporean is so sad
work, work and more work
seriously, i just wish that the country we live in isnt such a competitive one
to work 8-12 hours a day is already so long, we spend more time in office than in bed
not to mention having to work on weekends
isnt the point of studying and getting a certificate/degree to allow us to work in a more comfortable environment, and toil less hours as compared to our non/lowly educated parents?
instead of farming, rearing pigs and chickens, or selling soya bean, i thought we were supposed to be the white collar workers?
but with all the mental stress nowadays, and ridiculous pre-employment assignments and discussion topics given out to you for your job interviews, i think maybe i will be happier serving burgers at MOS Burger or waitressing at sushi tei.
if only life was so easily maintained - no Aldo, no Topshop, no Peugeot needed - and we could all lived, just by rearing our pigs and chickens.

i hope that i will be proven wrong
that indeed, there exists some company out there, that does think of its employees as real humans with real needs for work-life balance
and not just workaholics or slaves
i heard somewhere, work should complement your life
how true.... but how rare too

goodbye or see you,

I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

going gi-la over bloodsuckers

i just watched Twilight saga: New Moon last night...
and i think i could just watch it again!!!
hahaha

and now im interested to read the twilight series to indulge myself into the pain and taboo of an vampire-human love story
i guess its really fantasy, to first get yourself a vampire bf, and then have vampire bf leave you, and then enter werewolf bf into the story
i dont like the part whereby she said 'i love you' to the werewolf
but other than that, vampire's love for her is painstakingly heartaching
why cant they just turn her into a vampire?
case close
i think the 3rd series will be bella turning into vampire and hence, conflict with her ex werewolf best friend/ex...
cant wait already....

if being a vampire means that your body can glisten so beautifully in sunlight, and your skin appear so fair and translucent, and forever look young, can i be a vampire too?
let's have a vote heh
(every second counts, since as a vampire, you will remain forever the age you were bitten at... in that case, i shd have been bitten at 16 leh, then fulfill my sweet 16 wish. sigh!)

i really like going to the movies.
with you
thanks for always indulging me in my movie choices :)

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

Its a tricky scenario

I feel as if i have one leg in two boats
And its two shaky boats
I cant decide now which boat to take
I dont have enough info
I hope to make a darn decision
Something that will allow me to have my cake and eat it too
Guess next week is the deciding week
Part of me really wants one of the boat
If only it will stabllise amidst the waves to allow me to board

It sucks not being able to blog truthfully cuz i might just not remember 2 years down the road, what this post was all about
But there's a certain thrill in being vague too

Im yearning for pizza after reading the 1st chapter of Eat, Pray, Love
The author goes to italy (rome)
It seems like a beautiful country with gd food
I bought this book and The Notebook (so tht i can compare it to the movie, which was darn nice)
At hmv - 2 for $20
It feels good to buy something other than just clothes, shoes, and more clothes all the time
Makes me feel more calm, less materialistic and worldy
Its quite a bargain, if u want to get The Time Traveller's Wife, its 2 for $20 too

I think one day i will cut down or stop online shopping
Cnt imagine i wil stil buy from f21 or other blogshops when im nearing 30 leh
Plus by then i prob wont dare to wear tht kind of clothes haha

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

oh, the benefits of guava

i just made myself a tasty and healthy guava juice with milk. (however, mine wasnt pink guava like the photo..)
wanted to eat the guava but the skin has turned abit too brown for my visual liking and the fruit a little too soft, so i thought might as well try to make some juice out of it
i still wish there's an easier machine to make juice rather than having to wash the machine before and after (and its terribly hard to dig out the fruit bits left over after making it work)
but anyway it tastes really refreshing...
so i decided to google the benefits of guava juice
i have never tried white guava freshly squeezed.. and the supermarkets' guava juices are the pink (and artificially flavored) type..

The benefits of guava include controlling blood pressure, lowering cholestrol, battling diabetes, combating cancer and protecting prostrate!

Guava is very rich in astringents which binds up loose bowels in diarrhea. These astringents are alkaline in nature and have disinfectant and anti-bacterial properties, thus help cure dysentery by inhibiting microbial growth and removing extra mucus from the intestines. Further, other nutrients in guava, such as vitamin-C, Carotenoids and potassium strengthens and tones up the digestive system and disinfect it.

Guava has also higher amt of vitamin C as compared to our daily orange.
Certainly sounds like it can fight with the little vitamin c king, K for kiwi
i love it when fruit juice taste so naturally sweet without having to add syrup
also reminds me of our good o csbs watermelon juice dinners... altho i only realised after a long while that the canteen auntie added syrup to the juice :(

was surfing mama vintage on ebay and they have some gorgeous vintage dresses!
i havent bid on this lace dress, but i am watching the bids..
although i got to say im so sure the bids will rocket towards the end..

it has morphed into a mini obsession for me - it, being chiffon sleeves.
i know its abit like those wayang shows whereby they wear the robes with gigantic sleeves
but there's a charm to it when its sheer chiffon
it's like sexy in a subtle, elegant way
and there's something captivating when ladies show only their wrist you knw?
i forgot where i heard/read this from...
but i know this 'theory' was also applied in memoirs of a geisha the movie.

just randomly, i found this... i love the 3rd lady on the 1st row...
lady pirate.

tsunami

i've been hit by a sudden bout of depression
feeling so lonely
and aimless
as if i cant do anything well
as if i cant succeed
as if everyone's life is better than mine, in ways more than one
as if
what if its not as if
this always happens when i start to think that others have better lives than me
richer, prettier, easier... etc
tomorrow will come, and i will be renewed
time to meet mr bean bear in bed

am i too impatient, or is it just way too slow.

found this image, the cow is like me! crushed and feeling defeated.
but it will smile.

goodbye or see you, I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

Famous amos cookies rock!

my sister just brought back 2 bags of famous amos
yummy.. but may i remind everyone that in 3 famous amos cookies, you get your daily amt of fat! (or something like that, according to the health promo board event i went to early this yr)

anyway...
today is A's birthday and i get reminded of the fact that we are somehow still friends. its really something pleasant, considering the drama rama all those years ago.
this is definitely one of the cases whereby being friends/staying as friends is better than attempting a relationship.

vimrod sent me this today and i thought it was rather cute.
a goat who speaks no english and you speak no goat! hahaha.

and this shoulder cut out dress just look darn comfy
and may i add i have been (out of the blue) very into shades of blue recently?

but i think i shall save up for my lace toga with chiffon sleeve (altho uk 6 has already gone oos... i will try uk 8 but that is if it does not run out too!)

yesterday, hon and i went to the coffee nations again. this time i tried pear cider, which is rather refreshing, and has a tinge of alcohol.. tastes like pear soda.. and hon had pure blonde which he claimed is cheaper than water in australia... haha.. well, i will know when we get the chance (and the money) to go there next time. i think i wld like to go to perth/sydney.. i think the coffee nations is really a nice place to chill after dinner... the food there is not too bad too, portion looks bigger than what is seen on the menu.

so, i have about a week of freedom left.... so surreal.. but christmas is coming in a month's time.. cant wait for gatherings, parties and all sort of shopping outings that are laden with excuses 'oh its xmas time'.

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

sweet november

i swear i wanted to blog but blogger wont load my photos now :(
maybe cheewee hacked into my account to prevent me from uploading photos hahaha
cause he's always saying that all i blog about is clothes/shoes, machiam its a fashion blog or online store...
so i shall attempt to blog without photos for now..
i was just thinking yesterday why i am not able to find content to blog about frequently and hon said its because i have nothing on in my life..
nothing to complain about, hahaha

so.......
i might just be starting another new job in dec
if all things fall nicely
its another AE job but this time round i hope that it wont have all of the bad traits that IMG had
sometimes i wonder still whether i did the wrong thing by leaving my 1st job so early
but i remind myself of the crazy days
and i think it would have robbed me of my sanity and my health if i were to continue staying there, just for the sake of doing so
i am going to just keep my mind and options open
its getting really boring to just do nothing
restricts my personal development and growth haha
no doubt slacking is good, but too much just isnt healthy

increasingly, i've been wondering about the future
trying to see when the milestones will happen
things like when will i be getting my 1st car
when will i get married
at what age will i have my 1st kid
will there be more than one baby
how my career path will turn out
will i become a manager before 30
things like that you know
things that were not so important when you were 17 or 18
but at 23, going on 24, they seem to be glaring into my face
everywhere i turn, people seem to be getting married, or tending to kids
when will it be my turn to be someone's 'sister' at her wedding?
i dont see any of my friends getting married yet (except shuhui - next year - and im incredibly thrilled and excited to think of attending her dinner)
a little sad that i dont have a dozen of girlfriends
but then again, better to have a few close ones than a bunch of acquaintances
im also happy that one of my closest girls got attached recently
i hope its a brand new start to an amazing relationship!

hon and i have been thru much lately, but ever since a really loud bawling session at tampines mall no less, i really somehow feel like i've let go of alot of things from the past... be it grievances, grudges or fears dating back to old experiences. and since then we have been much closer than before and its something i am really thankful for. for what it's worth, it was worth all the while.

i think we got to realise, there are trade-offs in life
when you gain being comfortable around each other, you lose novelty
when you gain fame, you lose anonymity
when you gain a lover, you lose some friendships
these are just some of the examples
but we can always think on the brighter side and turn the situation around
being comfortable around your lover but losing novelty, you open doors you wouldnt dare to or dreamt of as comppared to if you guys were still pretending that you dont dig nose or squeeze your blackheads secretly. everyone knows novelty doesnt last anyway. there will always be something newer out there, in all aspects of life
being famous, you can see it as an opportunity to do great things and have people look up to you as their role models (though personally i love my privacy too much to want to be famous)
and when you lose some friendships because someone new came into your life (and maybe has already left), well, these aint the friendships that are worth keeping anyway if your friends couldnt even put themselves in your shoes and be more understanding
so, as hon wrote on his facebook -

'at some point in time, we gotta recognise the need to be a little more careless with the smaller things and focus on the bigger picture. its time we not let our lives be bound by trival insecurities, and start to treat ourselves with a little bit more'

we shouldnt always be our own critic/enemy.

so there, i managed to write an entire post without any photos.
the old me would have been proud of myself for indulging in just words.

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.

happy weekend

im back from a happy weekend!
watched A christmas carol with my hunny on fri
and maybe we were too tired + the show too slow
we both fell asleep and keep hearing ho-ho-ho and seeing funny ghosts
and woke up in time to catch the ending of mr scrooge turned mr nice
waste of our money haha
will blog about our staycation when i get the photos

i've been thinking of these 2 dresses!
which one will be nicer to wear for xmas?
sequins all over toga dress - bling bling

or this satin tulip dress with pretty prints?

the 1st one is def more christmas-ly haha but the 2nd one looks prettier with every glance
however it costs usd24.80 and knowing how f21 tends to fit me, im hesistant to get it and then have to go alter it

was also itching to get this pretty vest but i know i have too many clothes that are out of sight out of mind..

and then asos tempts with this luxurious looking velvet toga. somehow togas look more sexy when its long sleeved on one side and bare on the other arm. its like a duo tone dress haha.

but in anycase my AA dress has arrived sg, all i have to do is wait for the parcel to arrive early nx week (i hope). cant wait to wear it out! im sure baby will like the texture of the dress too :)

love the back of these dresses!

steve madden's remake of YSL caged heels.. anyone up for an early xmas gift for me? i dont know whats with my obsession with caged heels.. i m not SM thats for sure. heh

happiness

we are going to a free night's stay at swissotel the stamford tomorrow!!
yay!!!!!!
i am so anticipating the cuddling under the cold snug comforters
and just hanging out :)
on another note, i hope/think things are starting to work out
it better be...
im sick of living like so frugally
i saw this neat dress at warehouse and could not buy it
no doubt it is not worth $113
but its so comfy
i am into comfy dresses now
goodbye bodycon! (for now)
i really need to expand my wardrobe/reduce my clothes
im trying to be as optimistic as i can
be patient, things dont happen overnight.

ps - the naughty me went ahead to order the AA velvety u-back dress a few days ago. it really wasnt my fault that they are back in-stock.. its meant to me :P i just hope the size fits nicely...
cant wait cant wait..

pps - my gorgeous lace tunic from f21 arrived!! happiness. the scallop hems are sweet. i wore it out to THE COFFEE NATIONS (must-go-again!) with my suede boots (my most fabulous buy from my hk-shenzhen trip) that night, abit swanky on hindsight, but who cares now.

goodbye or see you,

dresses galore....

to make up for my more than just emo previous post, i decided to blog about a lighter topic. hehe...

i was so surprised to see this being sold!! i just blogged about it last month... am so getting it! love the corset back.... a pity they didnt make it in other colors though. i thk peach with black strings would have looked great.

my bc chiffon mesh dress in grey finally arrived from backorders.. the thrill of online shopping is totally ruined when the item is on backorder.. dont have the order today, receive it tomorrow/few days later excitement. gosh i miss receiving and tearing up several parcels at the same time!! dress is lovely, but the mesh turned out more pinklish nude than white.

this dress is to die for... i want to wear it for my wedding can? they need to give me the extra boobs to fill the space too hahaha

simple and nice. love the diamond keyhole.

lastly, i am totally in love with this laced bodycon dress with one sided chiffon sleeve. elegance meets sexiness in subtle way.
ASOS rocks!!! its darn expensive though... the back is amazing too.

will blog about my HK-shenzhen trip when i upload the photos. im really bored now.

Society, and me

Have I changed, or have I not?
I am lost, needing direction
This is such a painful chapter of life
Is it so hard to find out what I should do,
Is it so hard to be given a chance?
Is it so hard for God to be fairer?
Hasn't my life been more difficult & different already?
For how long more?
For how long more will faithh return,
And stop walking on broken glass?
Am I asking too much?
Just to have a direction and a path

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.
