life as an AE: day 3

today i damn lucky cuz i left at 6:32pm!!
why i say lucky?
cause my colleagues all away for meeting/leave/not around
so i faster took the opportunity to go home early! cuz God knows when such chances will come by again.. it is quite sucky not being able to know/even gauge what time i can leave work. start my day at 9 am, but dont know what time that day will draw to a close. sigh.. i aim to be able to manage my jobs so that i dont have to always OT, and by OT i definitely mean staying until after 830pm.. theres like zero life, and i wont be able to plan ANY outings at all with my friends, if its so unexpected or worse, routine that it will always be OT.. i rather try to be more efficient, not waste unnecessary time in the office. after all, there should be more to life than work/staying in the office.

so yeah today i faster run after looking ard to avoid bumping into anyone, haha, it sounds v suspicious but i already finished my impt tasks for the day and there was technically nth i cld do cuz the designer have not done the visuals... but i din want to repeat yest's scenario of me planning to leave le and then kenna arrowed to stay back. somemore the people there like have no sense of urgency to leave like that, ma chiam they 1) love their job/the office deep deep, 2) they have no else to go (aka no life outside of work), 3) they have tons to do... oh well... just keep my fingers crossed ba.. and start to get used to the idea of working from at least 9-7pm. boo! plus i do feel stressed already thinking of the 3 clients (but possibly with 5-10 projects each) that i will have to juggle. being an AE is like a chaser/nanny (Chase client, chase designer), ah long (collect debts and push debts to clients), and a half-creative brain.. in this company, its not just doing ads but its machiam like taking 10 of my CS332 campaign programming/planning module sia... alot of campaigns, promotions then thk of themes and ideas.. but all will be rejected by client, this cannot, that cannot, budget too low, too difficult to execute, blah... argggh

finally got to see my darling today, and maybe its true that absence does makes the heart grow fonder. haha today he did this super funny act, i shall describe it as the squirming cockroach drinking water with funky finger act. it was so funny i rolled off the bed when he was doing that. haha but that deep laughter helped me momentarily forget the stress.

anyway i saw this superb, terribly well-written paragraph by Hadley Freeman
"Some trends slip down easily with the masses: tunic dresses, oversize sunglasses, giant It bags. And then there are trends that only appeal to those who wear fashion goggles, those amazing glasses that make the implausible look desirable—magically morphing, say, dresses with stiffened, puffed shoulders from an alien's version of eighties shoulder pads into a gorgeous mix of modernism and retro referencing. Ugly shoes fall squarely into this latter category. Shoes that look like Transformers, shoes with teapots for heels, shoes with no apparent heels, and the ugliest (and currently most fashionable) of them all: gladiator sandals—fabulously casual to the fashion-goggle wearer, orthopedic and/or geriatric to everyone else."

i think i don a pair of fashion googles, not saying i am fashionable, but because i think that the 2nd sentence really applies to me.. haha.. those googles make me adore or love certain stuff that most people will balk at or think its super impractical. though i am not the only one donning such fashion googles that makes the rest of the crowd think we have weird tastes, but i guess i am particularly different when it comes to the admiration of shoes. will post examples very soon.

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.
