a penny for my thoughts

sometimes when life is too rosy, you will tend to wonder when is it all going to crash and crush you?
other times when you are stuck in misery and sadness, you wonder when you will ever get out of that mess and stop mopping.
humans are really walking contradictions.

sometimes i think do i need that many material stuff in my life?
do i need another new dress, another new bag? when i already like all those that i have.
getting new stuff sometimes means u will use them and then gradually find no reasons to use the old ones.
excesses, they become. redundancies.

its hard but gradually i have been telling myself u dont need all these, sometimes it says back but this is very very very nice and special!! but then i realise there will always be something that will catch your eye again and u will have this same conversation and struggle.
i think its similar to how humans struggle to perfect their lives, whether its through finding better men/women, earning more money, climbing up the career ladder and how we sometimes take what we already have for granted.

why do i say its similar? because underlying it shows that humans are hardly contented with what they have.
we gain something, we will always want something else. it seems that the value of something drops once we own it, so sometimes i tell myself, what for buy this, cuz theres always something better than this once u own this.
and even if u continue to love and cherish that item, u will soon accumulate many of which u all love and cherish and cannot bear to sell.
then nothing is special anymore when everything is so nice and special, isnt it?
its like a basket of good apples, which to pick since all are so good.
there must be a few rotten ones then u can appreciate the good apples.
in life it is that way too, without the bad, people never see the good.
but if theres too much good, people will not realise how lucky they are already and they will seek more.

moral of the story: please be contented with what you have.
as such, note to self: stop buying things to create redundancies. and remember to cherish your loved ones.

i'm lucky to meet someone who complements me and brightens up my life so much and after all the dark months i will learn to cherish even more this good apple among the rotten ones :)
after a storm, i can better appreciate the omnipresent sunny weather.

tomorrow is the 12th again. its amazing how it becomes just a number now, and sometimes i wonder how i pulled through all of the difficult times, when back then i thought i wld breakdown on april 12. just bcuz it was supposed to be the 4th year. but i guess life works in funny ways and those things are no longer important. time has the power to reduce significant matters to measly memories.

i watched "a moment to remember" again, this time with darling and i still cried. not as badly as the 1st few times though. its very sad to have alzheimer's diease and u cannot even rmb your husband, your family, all of your memories. cannot even control your own bladder. its worse than death and though its not physical pain, life becomes meaningless, and its most painful on your loved ones since u wont know whats gg on anyway.

P.S: the weekends are just tooooooo short! i am tired and not having enough time! :( maybe its time to quit my job.

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.
