an open letter, written with a splitting headache

i always thought i will be part of your life
and you, part of mine.
i always talked to you about others,
now i talk to others about you

i never imagined that ever since we got tog, that there would be one day, this day, that we dont talk to each other everyday
i never imagined one day, this day, that i would talk/think about our times tog using past tense
others yes, but you, i thought, never.
i thought i wont be telling others about us as if its all in the past
that what we shared was special and nothing like the rest of the people around us
was i too naive or just too blind
i feel very skeptical now about relationships
wondered how we could have been so happy and yet lost it all
looking through photos
how those smiles, hugs, comfort and outings are now replaced with tears, awkwardness, and resolution not to contact each other because we are not tog anymore
you were my present and future
but now i have to treat you like history
just like many of the world's histories that we shouldnt forget,
i dont want to forget either
this history that means much to me
are we slowly rewriting our lives?
moving on without each other
leaving behind the promises we made to each other
i think back to almost 4 years ago, to how we absurdly met
and i have this mad urge to run to you
asking you if you remember you once said you never want to let go of my hand.
such a long journey
you know me on so many levels
that i dont think i would open up to others so easily
and then there are things that only we know
hor baby hor?
and i want to keep them that way
would you remember the things we used to say, places we went, things we did, the songs we sang?
i wish there could be a way to guarantee that we will never forget each other
and i hope one day i will look at our photos with a smile
glad that it all happened
and be able to go out with you
just enjoying each other's company because we once so understood each other
maybe one day we will find that with time, we no longer understand each other so well, and feel distant
but at this point, i still remember how close we were, the best of friends, and words were unnecessary at times
if anything is possible in this world,
would it be possible to regain everything that we have lost?
we will find that out in due time

Signing off,
me and Tg
