protecting one-self: Power Over Cervical Cancer (POCC)

ok, i just decided, before the end of this year i should go get cervical cancer vaccine.
because i read that, it is most effective when taken during the age of 16-25.
and i am going to be 25 soon.. ):
so better go for it...

apparently....

Cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer that affects us women worldwide.
In Singapore, one woman is diagnosed with Cervical Cancer every 2 days, and one loses the fight every 5 days.

Cervical cancer IS preventable.
It is the ONLY preventable woman's cancer.

so i hope, this little post will encourage all my female friends who are reading this..
to do the same...
just ping me if you want to join me to get the vaccine... hahaa...
we can go for it together...
there are 3 jabs, i think it will be spread out. 0 - 2 - 6 months.
and btw, getting the vaccine doesnt mean you dont need to do any more pap smears..
it is still advised to get one done at least once every 3 years..
it will help to spot any cancerous cells in women's cervix.
please dont do it during your menses haha.
ideally it should be done 14 days after the 1st day of your period.

although getting the vaccine would mean $xxx amount flying out of our already shallow pockets,
but prevention is always better than cure.
it is a real risk for any woman.
so do take the time to think a little more about it, like i did (:

you can visit http://www.facebook.com/POCCSG and like their page.
first 3,000 people to do so, will apparently, receive a $160 spa voucher.
and this is not an advertorial hahaha, i wish it was :P

---Somewhere between our laughs, our long talks, our silly little fights, and all our jokes, I fell in love.
