wordy wordy

i dont understand why some girls can just keep a blog and just post photos of themselves all the time (ie. every single post). there are such narcissistic people out there. and what is worse is the fact that they do so because they truly think they are 'very chio' and they will say things like 'i know u all have been missing my chio face, here's a very chio photo for u' or something along this line. if its just once or twice, fine, it cld just be a joke to their friends or readers but when these kind of sentences pop up in 90% of the posts, it is not just narcissistic-ism on full blast, but very annoying as well. who the hell thinks they are so pretty, when it is not God who made them so, but photoshop?!! but seriously, i am damn amazed with photoshop. the things they can do to make someone look so flawless, so pretty, like a piece of art. that's probably the same reason why we are all made to think that the creatures of beauty that appear in makeup ads, skincare ads, clothing ads, really exist the way they are. but i guess, once u are used to looking at a photoshopped self, u nv really want to appear unphotoshopped, cuz the contrast is just too great! ahah just like xiaxue.. plus i realise appropriate (heavy) makeup can realllly enhance how girls look. on the bus today i saw this girl with super thick and long (false) eyelashes. i also want to have that, really enhances her eyes. haha. though makeup cannot change your features (if u are not pretty, then tons of makeup wont make u pretty) BUT makeup can make u look more attractive (even if u are not pretty). it makes people take a second look at u, and that is what all girls want, right. haha/unless its a second look for the wrong reasons like 'omg i cant believe she is so (insert negative adjective)...'

moving on, i have been worrying much about the future. with graduation being so near, and our FYP still quite in a messy, raw state, and the terrible thought of not finding a job, it all stresses me much, i even dreamt about taking exams and being told there's no more job vacancy! =( also, though i am only 22 (or u can see it as 'i am ALREADY 22, going on 23 in about 3 more weeks), i am also starting to think and plan for the future, which includes the horrifying yet anticipatory idea of getting married, buying a house, having kid(s), and so on... in singapore, most of all live in HDBs. and only married couples or singles above 35 can buy a HDB. and to buy a BTO (built-to-order) flat, you must apply 2-3 yrs in advance before u want to get married (tht is if you dont want to stay with the in-laws after marriage), to allow for the completion of the BTO. after you apply, you have about 2 years to show HDB your marriage cert to be eligible for the BTO... and that means u could be prompted/forced/pushed/obligated to act on the idea of marriage faster than u could say 'yes, i do' because of one word = practicality. take me for example, i am now 22. i have always wanted to get married by 26 or 27, cuz i want to have kid(s) before 30, and give myself 2 years of marital bliss and 'er ren shi jie'. so what does that mean? it means i must apply for BTO within the next year or so (23 years old), so add 2-3 years for the BTO flats to be built, that will be 25-26 years old, just in time for the age that i want to get married. so its almost like i must say 'yes, i do' at 23 years old! isnt that scary, and somewhat no different from my friends who married young? haha... but actually what is it about marriage that scares most people? the inability and lack of freedom to say 'lets break up'? the trouble of divorce? no longer having your own time and space? why dont we view marriage as a more optimistic thing? actually i think it is because marriage is associated with the idea of having children. and having children, as we all know, is a costly and mind-boggling thing... couples quarrel about children, get pissed with children, quarrel about money because children needs money, quarrel because children are naughty/do badly in school, etc.. if its only 2 ren shi jie forever, then u wouldnt have all these quarrels.. probably only quarrel cuz u are too bored with each other haha. but despite all these, i just cant bear the idea of not having (at least) one kid, cuz i dont want to regret and wish that i could have experienced the endearing feeling of this cute little thing holding my hand and calling me 'mama'... like how isaac would behave.. ahha everytime he comes n hold my hand or gives us a hug in his gd moods, its so endearing! haha.. we always force him to kiss us then he will like do it the french-style. not french kiss la, its the french ppl style, cheek to cheek kind.. lol my brother says he is ang moh kia..

so anyway today i went back to design bridge to eat lunch with grace & eesze, and eunice & deniece also went. and it was really nice to see the changes in the office, nice walls adorned with pics of them wearing xmas hat and the cheeky poses, and the wall of chalk drawings.. i wanted to write 'i was here' lol... and it was also heartening to see certain things or rather people, have not changed. most of them were really welcoming and happy to see us and chatted much with us.. and the question that came out from everyone to us was 'have u graduated?' or 'when are u graduating?'... haha.. seeing sufei today in her signature boho skirt outfit totally makes me feel as if it was just yesterday that i first stepped into db as an intern.. but its already 1 year, come january! haha. somehow 2008 just flew past, its like one of the fastest years ever. i had to ride some tough waves but after that it seems like a pretty easy and happy year :) but ya back to topic.. the people there din change at all! haha.. it brought back fond memories of sufei being my supervisor and me being the protege LOL.. i wonder what happened to so and so project that i was on but din ask in case of confidentiality... but maybe i will know it when i see it on the shelves nx time.. its quite cool that eunice's design is now being sold in supermarkets.. its the SHINE yoghurt drink i think.. but nestle bliss taste nicer and its cheaper!

and yeah it seems that its positive that they are still intending to hire despite the bad times.. and they said it has been busy.. so maybe they aint too affected (yet?) by the economy.. so its great news for u, going back this time just reinforces my fondness for the place and people, and i think it will be a gd place to start from for my career... so i will probably talk to them in january after they are back from xmas closure! yay! at least i feel less worried now..

alright, nx post will be pictures i promise. lots of nice stuff to post up :P
