Randomly

It suddenly hit me
The difference between 'how are you?' and 'how have you been?'
The former is asking about the present you. And more often than not, the recipient answers 'fine', or 'good'
Even though usually it is not the absolute truth
Its been said too that when people ask u that, they really aint asking out of concern, all they want to hear is a short 'im ok', not you going into your rambles and grumbles

The latter, 'how have you been?' is much less asked maybe because we are afraid to really hear the truth
And often the question just gets stuck inside us, we are too afraid to ask
Do we really wanna know what they have been up to, what they did?
Suggests to me this is a question we would think of asking people, friends, exs, from our past, people whom we may have hanged out but no longer do, people whom we have drifted apart from, people we might turn our heads from or look down on the floor when we see them approaching us on the street, by a sheer stroke of luck or maybe coincidence, I don't know

Its true all of us with only 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, could hardly catch a breath for ourselves, not to mention having the time and effort for every single of our friends, family etc. Friends come and go that's a sad fact. Not many people remain close to their primary sch friends and increasingly so, we even drift apart from our closest secondary sch friends. But they are somewhere in our hearts, and we remember sheepishly the foolish and childish deeds we did, 10, 15 years ago.
Gosh time really passes quickly isn't it so?
I can hardly believe I have already graduated from uni, with a degree.. something that everyone used to only dream of

I am 23, I am 23, going onto 24
I am anticipating the future but I am afraid to lose youth so quickly
Time pls slow down and let us relish each moment that we are alive
Living, breathing

Maybe its my last day at my 1st official job
Abit emo with many thoughts
Maybe its cuz i m listening to a string of slow sad chinese songs
That often causes me to activate my need to VOMIT - voice out my inane thoughts

goodbye or see you,
I'll be your best kept secret or your biggest mistake.
