happy chinese new year to all.

so v day is over.
i was kinda surprised when J msged me saying he saw me at JP.
what a nice balance since i saw him at TM the last time.
then i wonder if the circumstances were better/different, would we have gone up to each other and say hi, rather than using sms to say "i saw u"?

i got flowers on v day. gerbera (really reminds me of rachel.. wish u were here!) from alvin ng, rose and bunny hp holder from jiahong, and liles (yay.. they smell so nice) from my mr. thank u!! anyway, i was kinda disappointed with fish and co on v day cuz they forced us to eat only their sets (over priced) and no ala carte.. it further reinforce my belief that v day shd not be celebrated cuz we are just giving in to the retail/service industry. seeing the long queue, i wanted to eat fast food, but he said it wld be a spoiler so okay, we waited for maybe 20 mins. it was a rushed affair, cuz i had to rush back to do 202 assignment. but its really the tot that counts, just rushing down to this ulu ntu is a nice thing le.

today's CNY dinner was fantastic! the food was okay.. the cereal prawn n crab was best lah. and the little white wine i had with foc.. its v sweet n nice.. if only gt more.. and due to ben's bday, i had two little cups of vodka and jack daniels (1st time drinking tis thingy..) i realise i prefer wine or beer to such hard liquor.. cuz they taste better and not so hot down ur throat. but if its mixed with soft drinks, i will like it. haha. anyway, the best parts abt the dinner was not the food itself lah.. its the company, fun, and nonsensical things we did. like me, captain mike, wenxin, roland and andy played "wu li gao shou chu zao" and "hai dai" and this "cai quan" thingy, where we just kept hitting each other's palm till go high.. haha.. its v memorable. and we played those childhood games like "hei bai pei" and this game where u try to break apart the person's fingers.. think mike' s bones v hard, my little pinkie feels broken! and we just went on a mad rush to take photos with everyone, its as if its prom nite. lol! tonight i feel v relaxed, happy and it really makes me wanna go out with my friends! :) recess is coming!! oh and rl and i discussed before, and i think it wld be really really nice if we cld go on a graduation trip tog wor!! wld be fun and memorable.

i also feel v happy its the end of the week cuz v day canvassing is over. i slept so little the past 3 days that i always walk y-y and my head will just sway if i m stoning. the most memorable was on tues nite. i went up to room at 8 am. skipped 227, and slept till abt 10. the whole day i was v seh.. haha.. but strangely when i was rushing my 202 yesterday at ard this time (3 am), i feel like i missed wrapping flowers n being with my commitee. there was this bonding that grew stronger during these 2 days, and i just feel i miss the camaraderie of working tog, suffering tog. some of us suffered more, some suffered less, (maybe cuz of my karma of being too busy with school to help out last yr) but nevertheless i actually enjoyed it. haha. it feels surreal that its over. strange right? but still, we have done a gd job, and i hope we have grown stronger n closer tog..

now for some reflections..

joshua just left for USA on V day.. and it really reminded me of the scene when i went to send rachel off, it seems like it nv happened.. or maybe its me hoping it nv.. and i read someone's blog whereby she was talking abt his best friend edwin.. saying that he was v sad abt josh's leaving.. and wrote

"Stayovers, long nights talking about all the stuff that we hide in the secret places of our heart, shared rides home,... no more. At least not for the next few years, and even then, life moves on. Patterns change, new safety nets are established and comfort zones erected."

it really made me sad. not just thinking that that mite be true for us and rach, but also just for friends ard us. one day things are gg to change cuz life moves on. it seems cruel that we just have to accept it.

and then comparing the changes in a friendship to breaking up...

"Its like breaking up. It usually isn't the actual act of calling it quits that hurts. Its the severing of ties that is painful. The aftermath where you have to create new patterns of behavior and the dissonance tears at your heart."

how true is that. life changes and we just have to adapt.

but well, maybe its really a case of 不在乎天长地久,只要晨经拥有。

Signing off,
no more ink.
